Several people have since posted images with the SC website saying “hackeado por HighTech Brazil HackTeam”. The most recent screenshots, however, suggest that the website has crashed now, with the message “this site can’t be reached” being displayed. The suspicions are troubling, especially in light of the fact that India’s Defence Ministry website was hacked just a few days back, after which the Home and Law Ministry websites were also down. Sources in the court said any order or judgment once uploaded on the website cannot be pulled down or deleted now without a judicial order being passed by the judicial officer acknowledging the mistake and directing it to be rectified. Also, the District & Sessions Judge would now authorize the correction to be carried out in the uploaded judgment in his supervision and uploading the correct judgment. Reps. Khanna, Ratcliffe Calling for Modern Government Websites
Reps. Ro Khanna, D-Calif. and John Ratcliffe, R-Texas, say it is time the government modernized its websites. The comments from the bipartisan lawmakers came in a column posted by Wired. "It’s no secret that the federal government is way behind the private sector when it comes to modernization and technology," they wrote. "Because of these outdated systems, many federal agencies rank staggeringly behind the private sector when it comes to customer service." Their column noted healthcare.gov and USAJobs.gov were tied for the worst government websites for customer services, according to data collected. And they said the low scores resulted from a “range of user issues, including the inability to get information, complete transactions, or schedule appointments with ease." Dem House Candidate Says Russians Tried to Hack Her Campaign Website
Democrat Tabitha Isner, who is running for a House seat from Alabama, is claiming Russians attempted to hack her campaign website more than a thousand times last month, Business Insider is reporting. Isner said there had been more than 1,400 attempts to break into her website and about 1,100 were traceable back to Russia, according to Business Insider. She is attempting to unseat Republican Martha Roby in Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District. Isner said she became aware of the hacking attempts after the web hosting company she was using alerted her to an increase in traffic and recommended an upgrade to avoid the campaign website crashing. "I was pretty surprised by that because I had bought enough bandwidth, enough hosting power, that it shouldn't be an issue," Isner said. "I knew something was up and I had my web administrator go look into it."
