Surabaya, E Java (ANTARA News) - Surabaya Mayor Tri Rismaharini expressed optimism that Harmoni Park in Keputih, Surabaya City, East Java Province, would become a world-class garden tourism attraction if developed consistently. "Harmoni Park involves the concept or theme of a flower," she said, after a tree planting event along with the Head of the East Java Province High Prosecutor`s Office (Kajati), Sunarta, at Surabaya Harmoni Park, on Thursday. The event, which involved planting trees and creating the biopori (water absorption hole), was held as part of the commemoration of the 58th Anniversary of Bakrie (HBA) and the 18th Anniversary of Adhyaksa Dharmakarini (IAD) Association. The prosecutor`s officials planted trees of various species such as Jokorondo, Pule, and Mahogany. THERESA MAY will today announce £70million of taxpayers' money to transform Birmingham’s athletics stadium into a world-class venue ahead of the city’s 2022 Commonwealth Games. The investment will increase Alexander Stadium’s capacity from 12,700 to 40,000 in time for the Games. The stadium will retain 20,000 permanent seats after the event. The Government pointed to the record of the London 2012 Olympics and the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in 2014 as examples of how major sporting events can generate economic as well as cultural benefits. But the money is likely to cause anger among MPs as it is nearly twice as much as the Government’s violent crime strategy. And it compares to just £30million committed over the next decade to eradicating rough sleeping across the country. Transit Mix Concrete said in a news release the park might eventually be built on the Pikeview Quarry property, a massive scar on a rugged patch of northwest Colorado Springs -- but only if the company can get permits from the state and the county to mine part of the Hitch Rack Ranch south of the city. Dozens of area residents and organizations have opposed the company's plans to build the second quarry off of Colorado 115 near Little Turkey Creek Road, citing concerns that the project could threaten the area's water supply and wildlife.
