South Korea's ongoing sex crime crisis forms the focus of a gripping new Netflix documentary— Cyber Hell: Exposing an Internet Horror. May 17, 2022 by www.thehindu.com

Lakshmi Das recites eight lines from Kumaran Asan’s poem, ‘Chandalabhikshuki’ , starting with ‘Innale cheythorabadham...’ and posts it as a voice note on a WhatsApp group comprising her students. Within the next four days, they post their renditions in the same group. Lakshmi gives feedback to each of them. That is how Thiruvananthapuram-based Lakshmi has been taking Kavyakeli classes for 30-plus students for a month now. She is among the four experts who are taking lessons in Kavyakeli for more than 130 students under an initiative launched by Vyloppilly Samskrithi Bhavan, a cultural centre in Thiruvanathapuram under Government of Kerala. This is a carousel. Use Next and Previous buttons to navigate 2 In civilian life, Taras Myronyuk conducted a Ukrainian orchestra that toured the world — including gigs in San Francisco — and taught music at a university in Kviv. But after Russia invaded his country this year , the 51-year-old father of three enlisted in the nation’s armed forces and is now a combat engineer with the rank of sergeant. In his company of 62 people, only two had body armor as of late March, he said. “Ballistic protection is the biggest need that soldiers have, as well as medical supplies such as tourniquets, all of which can save a great deal of lives,” he said via text message. Now, Myronyuk and his cohorts have a dozen ballistic vests, paid for by his nephew, Andrew Vasylyk, co-founder of San Francisco’s StartupSoft, which hires Ukrainian engineers to work remotely for U.S. tech companies. That’s obviously not enough. The scarcity of body armor is repeated among … [Read more...] about Ukrainian soldiers urgently need body armor. This San Francisco company wants to help

May 18, 2022 by www.breitbart.com

Tuesday on FNC’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” host Tucker Carlson defended prior statements regarding so-called great replacement theory pertaining to the U.S. electorate and how Democrats had openly claimed shifts in demographics would be to their political advantage. Carlson’s remarks come in the wake of the Buffalo, NY shooting in which the suspect allegedly used the theory for justification for actions. Many on the left had attacked the FNC host, including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), who Carlson called a coward for declining to appear on his FNC show. Transcript as follows: Last May, a 17-year-old high school senior called Payton Gendron received an assignment in his economics class. The assignment asked, “What do you want to do when you retire?” He answered, “Commit murder-suicide.” Gendron’s teacher immediately reported his threat to authorities who sent him to the emergency room for a psychiatric evaluation. Gendron was there for just 20 hours, as he … [Read more...] about Carlson: Democrats Have Decided Rather Than Convince You, They Will Change the Electorate

May 18, 2022 by www.news18.com

Ahead of the Karnataka SSLC Results 2022, good news for students. The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) has decided to give grace marks to students. In wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and difficulties encountered during remote learning, KSEEB had decided to give 10 per cent grace marks to candidates in SSLC exams. If any student needs three marks each in three subjects, teachers can now make an exception and award the same from the grace marks kitty. Previously, this was allowed to up to five marks. The move is expected to take the pass percentage or number of students passing the exam up. Last year, Karnataka Board reported its highest ever passing percentage as all students barring one were promoted to the next class. While none of the male students failed the exam, the pass percentage among female students was 99.99. Only one student failed the exam after she took the exam from the wrong centre. While the pass percentage this year might be less than 2021’s … [Read more...] about Karnataka SSLC Result Tomorrow: Students to Grace Marks, Know Marking Scheme
