Politics Ho Chi Minh City eager to seek closer cooperation with French areas Five reasons why Vietnam is ideal for retirement

Ho Chi Minh City would like to promote cooperation with French localities, especially in climate change response, education, and technology, when Vietnam and France celebrate 45 years of diplomatic ties, a vice-chairman of the city said on Tuesday. The southern Vietnamese hub is seeking more collaboration with French regions on quality human resource development, cultural exchanges, science, urban lighting, particularly on climate change response, education, and technology, Tran Vinh Tuyen, deputy chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee announced at an event to mark the 45th  anniversary of the diplomatic relationship between Hanoi and Paris. This is to help the city develop rapidly and sustainably, Tuyen added. Ho Chi Minh City and France have implemented many projects over the past 20 years, such as the lighting of the City Hall, the Municipal Theater, and the Fine Arts Museum, he said. Politics Cuban president tours Cu Chi Tunnels in Ho Chi Minh City Organ donor’s death brings new life to five others in Vietnam

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel visited the Cu Chi Tunnels in Ho Chi Minh City on Saturday morning, as part of his official visit to Vietnam from November 8 to 10. Paying a visit to the historic site was the first activity of President Díaz-Canel’s agenda in the southern Vietnamese metropolis on Saturday. The Cuban leader and the First Lady saw a documentary on the tunnels at the site. They were also invited to have a taste of Cu Chi’s signature dishes, cassava and rice balls, and briefed on Vietnamese soldiers and their weapons during the American war in Vietnam. The president and his spouse wear traditional hats and scarves during their visit. Located about 60km from downtown Ho Chi Minh City, the Cu Chi Tunnels were previously built by Vietnamese soldiers as shelter from U.S. troops during the war in Vietnam.
