Why does solid snake kill venom snake

Over 100 “dangerous” snakes seized by police from woman’s home

June 27, 2022 by www.newsweek.com

Police seized more than 100 "dangerous" snakes from a German woman's house after she required medical attention for a rattlesnake bite. On Sunday, local police stated that a 35-year-old woman was injured at approximately 1 a.m. after she was struck and bitten by a rattlesnake. Rattlesnakes are venomous vipers known for their large size and unique shaped heads. The name comes from the "rattle" located at the tip of the snake's tail that makes a noise when it shakes. If left untreated, a rattlesnake bite can be fatal, however, death is uncommon in many areas including the United States since antivenom is widely distributed. According to the World Health Organization , an estimated 2.3 million individuals around the world are bitten by snakes and experience envenoming–a potentially life-threatening disease caused by the toxins in the venom. The majority of the world's snake bites occur in parts of Africa, Asia and Latin America where antivenom is harder to come by, the … [Read more...] about Over 100 “dangerous” snakes seized by police from woman’s home

What the disgusting racism against Justice Thomas reveals about the ‘anti-racist’ side | Opinion

June 27, 2022 by www.newsweek.com

Last week's reversal of the Roe v. Wade decision by the U.S. Supreme Court sent shockwaves through the political system. In addition to celebrations on the Right, there has been a dramatic backlash on the progressive Left, along with genuine fear among some women about what this ruling means for them. As is par for the course at this point, misinformation is rampant, and has included claims that the Dobbs ruling makes abortion illegal nationwide ( it doesn't ) or that states with abortion bans have no exceptions for when the life of the mother is at risk ( they do ). But there has been another, deeply unfortunate development, too: the vehement racism shown towards Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. Thomas wasn't the author of the ruling (Justice Samuel Alito was), but Justice Thomas has been singled out on social media by progressives deliberately using some of the most vile, racist language. Here's just a small sampling : "Clarence Thomas is a dirty porch … [Read more...] about What the disgusting racism against Justice Thomas reveals about the ‘anti-racist’ side | Opinion

‘I just couldn’t be silent’: How American women decided the 2020 presidential race

November 8, 2020 by www.thestar.com.my

ARCHBALD, Pa (Reuters) - Marygrace Vadala's 82-year-old mother had been a fan of President Donald Trump since his days hosting the reality TV show "The Apprentice." She enthusiastically voted for him in 2016. But in the first weeks of the coronavirus pandemic, as the two watched daily White House briefings, Vadala's mom - Grace Webber - voiced her first doubts. "Why isn't he listening to the medical experts?" Vadala, a 48-year-old home care nurse, recalled Webber asking. Weeks later, Webber landed in the hospital with a gastrointestinal bleed. She soon contracted the coronavirus, spending nearly a month on a ventilator. In May, Vadala, a devout Catholic, said goodbye to Webber over FaceTime, clutching her mother's rosary beads. Vadala, who lives in a suburb of Scranton, Pennsylvania, had been a Republican all her life. But she concluded Trump lacked the "integrity and trustworthiness and responsibility" she was raised to value, and she wanted him out. She became a prominent … [Read more...] about ‘I just couldn’t be silent’: How American women decided the 2020 presidential race

Please stop asking for antibiotics every time you see a doctor with a cold

November 13, 2017 by www.newsweek.com

The bacteria responsible for the plague spreading in Madagascar can be treated with antibiotics—for now. But that could change. Some are concerned the infection could become resistant to those antibiotics, as NPR reported , especially if people use the drugs when they aren't necessary. Overuse of antibiotics is one of the issues the World Health Organization would like to make more people think about this week. The agency has declared the week of November 13 to be " World Antibiotic Awareness Week ." This is WHO's third antibiotic awareness week. Drug-resistant bacteria have been a concern for years. "Without urgent action now, more patients will be thrust back to a time before we had effective drugs," Tom Frieden, then-director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said in 2013. "If we're not careful, we will soon be in a post-antibiotic era. And, in fact, for some patients and some microbes, we are already there." ( Newsweek , for what it's worth, has … [Read more...] about Please stop asking for antibiotics every time you see a doctor with a cold

Nolte: 11 Ways Democrats Helped Overturn Roe v. Wade

June 27, 2022 by www.breitbart.com

No one did more to ensure that the moral and legal atrocity called Roe v. Wade was overturned than Democrats. Let’s count the ways, shall we… Harry Reid How do we even begin to thank the late Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) for ending the filibuster? Harry ended the filibuster in 2013 so Barry Obama could fill the courts with fascist radicals. This act ensured then-President Trump could get his trifecta of perfect Supreme Court justices over the finish line. If Reid had not killed the filibuster, at least two of those three (Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett) would have been non-starters, and Roe v. Wade would still be the law of the land. Thank you, Harry! Lena Dunham From where I sit, rape-hoaxer Lena Dunham led the pro-abortion crowd into a corner they could not escape from. Back in 2016, when Dunham said , “Now I can say that I still haven’t had an abortion, but I wish I had,” she shifted the left’s public attitude. For decades, the … [Read more...] about Nolte: 11 Ways Democrats Helped Overturn Roe v. Wade

SC verdict in Zakia Jafri case deeply disappointing, says Congress

June 27, 2022 by www.thehindu.com

Three days after the Supreme Court rejected a petition to probe larger conspiracy behind the 2002 Gujarat riots, the Congress on Monday described the judgment as “deeply disappointing” and recalled that the top court had earlier observed that the conduct of the Narendra Modi government in Gujarat was like a “modern day Nero” In a strongly worded statement, All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary in-charge of communications, Jairam Ramesh, expressed the party’s solidarity with the family members of former Lok Sabha member, Ehsan Jafri, who was killed during a mob attack on the Gulberg Society. “What happened to him in a most tragic manner was the result of a fundamental lapse on the part of the State government,” he said. On Friday, a three-judge Bench of the top court had rejected a petition by Zakia Jafri, wife of Jafri, for a wider probe into the riots. Trans man plans to fly to Turkey to have breasts removed for £7,000 less than in the UK

June 26, 2022 by www.mirror.co.uk

A transgender man is going to Turkey to have both his breasts removed as the surgery cost less than half the price in the UK. Josh Dayus, 19, says he has not received any treatment via the NHS and has been on an NHS waiting list to go to a gender identity clinic since 2018. He says he was diagnosed with gender dysphoria privately. Last year, he started paying for testosterone which costs £60 a month. Josh has now decided to fly to Turkey for a double mastectomy as the surgery as it costs just £3,000, compared to up to £10,000 in the UK, BristolLive reports. The NHS said it is seeing a rise in demand for gender services and has increased investment, including setting up five gender identity pilot clinics across the country. He said: "It is stupid, I do not want to go to Turkey to get this surgery but I am glad it is an option. Josh says it will cost him £3,000 to have the surgery done in Turkey ( Image: Handout) Josh has been on an NHS waiting list to … [Read more...] about Trans man plans to fly to Turkey to have breasts removed for £7,000 less than in the UK

Disney Star Olivia Rodrigo Sings ‘F**k You’ During Supreme Court Attack in England

June 27, 2022 by www.breitbart.com

Pop singer and Disney Channel star Olivia Rodrigo reacted to the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade by trashing the high Court during her performance in England, and dedicating singer Lily Allen’s song “Fuck You” to the justices who sided with overruling Roe . “I’m devastated and terrified that so many women and so many girls are going to die because of this,” said Olivia Rodrigo, who starred in the Disney Channel series Bizaardvark, of the notion that women will not be able to kill their unborn children as easily in a post Roe v. Wade America. Watch Below: “And I wanted to dedicate this next song to the five members of the Supreme Court who have showed us that at the end of the day, they truly don’t give a shit about freedom,” the 19-year-old singer added, as she stood on stage at the Glastonbury music festival in England.
