Doug Mastriano, the Donald Trump -endorsed Republican candidate for Pennsylvania governor, held a rally outside the State Capitol in Harrisburg over the weekend that was attended by just a few dozen people. Mastriano, a far-right election denier who was present at the "stop the steal" protest in Washington, D.C., on January 6, spoke at the sparsely attended event on Saturday in front of around 50 to 60 people. According to The New York Times , about half of those who watched Mastriano speak were volunteers from his own campaign team. The low attendance was seen as a for Mastriano's struggling attempt to win over voters ahead of November's midterms. The Republican has been heavily outspent by his Democratic rival Josh Shapiro in terms of campaign funding, with Mastriano not paying for any television ads for several months. So you’re saying there’s a chance? Call it “wishcasting” if you like, but for the first time in a long time , Republicans are starting to see the slimmest ray of hope in midterm polling results. The most conclusive evidence is in the U.S. Senate races that could determine control of the upper chamber. In Nevada, Republican challenger Adam Laxalt narrowly leads Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto . It’s the special crossover episode no one asked for but we’re getting anyway as Hollywood Democrats hit the panic button ahead of the November midterms. The casts of NBC’s The West Wing and HBO’s Veep will come together for a livestream fundraiser to help Wisconsin Democrats defeat Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) in the midterm elections and prevent Republicans from taking control of the Senate. Their last-ditch fundraising appeal comes as a recent poll shows Sen. Johnson erasing his deficit against radical leftist and soft-on-crime challenger Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes (D), and even posting a slight lead. As Breitbart News reported , a recent Trafalgar Group poll has the incumbent senator leading by just over two percent at 48.7 percent of the likely general election voters, with Barnes trailing at 46.5 percent. Barnes has stated he “ absolutely ” wants to release half of Wisconsin’s inmate population. The Wisconsin fundraiser will boast a slew of celebrities who appear to … [Read more...] about ‘West Wing,’ ‘Veep’ Casts Team Up for Fundraiser to Help Wisconsin Democrats Defeat Ron Johnson
