I am honoured to be returning to Vietnam for my third visit since being the Minister of State for Asia and the Pacific. North Korean delegation visits Vietnam Agriculture Science Institute
A high-ranking delegation of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) led by its Vice Chairman Ri Su-yong on February 28 visited the Vietnam Agriculture Science Institute in Hanoi. Vice Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea of DPRK Ri Su-yong shows his interest in Vietnam's farming techniques applied in the cultivation of food crops. The delegation was welcomed by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Quoc Doanh; Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Van Suu; and Director of the Vietnam Agriculture Science Institute Nguyen Hong Son. Argentina eyes telecommunications tie with Vietnam
Argentina expects to work with Vietnam to further boost its telecommunications and Internet sectors, as a mere nine million of the country’s population have access to broadband Internet, while 60% use 4G smartphones, heard attendees at a meeting between Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung and Andres Ibarra, Argentina's minister of modernization, on February 20. Countries condemn attack on Vietnamese tourist bus
Many countries have condemned a bombing attack on a bus carrying Vietnamese tourists in the Egyptian province of Giza that killed four persons, including three Vietnamese on December 28 (Egypt time). Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli visits victims in El-Haram hospital In a statement, spokesperson from the US Department of State Robert Palladino affirmed that Washington will stand with Cairo in the fight against terrorism and help government of the North African country bring the perpetrators to justice. The Russian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Egypt, including those against foreign tourists, and expressed support to Egypt’s steps to fight extremism. Society Vietnam working with Egypt in helping victims of deadly Cairo blast Wrestling for glory at Vietnam’s ‘Vat Cau’ festival
The Vietnamese foreign ministry said on Saturday it is working closely with Egyptian authorities to provide assistance to victims of a roadside bomb blast that hit a tour bus, killing three Vietnamese tourists, in Cairo on Friday. The blast happened at 6:15 pm local time on Friday less than four kilometers from Egypt’s world-famous Giza pyramids in Cairo, the foreign ministry said in a statement. The bus was carrying 14 Vietnamese tourists who were on a tour organized by Ho Chi Minh City-based travel firm Saigontourist. Three Vietnamese tourists have been confirmed dead while 11 others were injured in the blast, including ten who remain hospitalized for severe injuries. An Egyptian tour guide was also killed in the blast. Two tourists who sustained minor wounds are being cared for at the Embassy of Vietnam in Cairo, according to the Vietnamese foreign ministry.
