Unique five-thousand year old fossil reef found in Vietnam

For the first time in Vietnam, specialists from the Vietnam Institute of Geosciences and Mineral Resources have discovered a cemetery of fossilised coral reef more than 5,000 years old on Quang Ngai province’s Ly Son Island. The unprecedented and unique discovery opens up new interpretations of the earth dating back to 5,000 years ago. The ancient coral reef complex called “Cemetery of coral” located in Ly Son Island District was found in January by the Vietnam Institute of Geosciences and Mineral Resources. The population of paleontological coral reefs covering on an area of around 20,000 sq.meter features ancient corals with a wide variety of colors, shapes and sizes. The place is a boat basin where local fishermen dock their ships to avoid the storm, said the chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Ly Son district Pham Thi Huong. International support important to Vietnam’s development

International support is of great importance to Vietnam’s national liberation struggle and development. Phu Quoc to host Vietnam’s biggest electronic music festival

Phu Quoc Island off Kien Giang Province in December will host the third edition of Epizode, which is Vietnam's biggest underground dance music festival. Carl Cox performs on New Year’s Eve 2017 at Epizode 2  Epizode 3 will kick off on December 28, 2018 and run through January 8, 2019, according to the Vietnam News Agency.   Participants will be treated to 11 days of world-class electronic music and art, all taking place on the beautiful beaches of the island in the southern province of Kien Giang. The last two editions in 2016 and last year received positive feedback for bringing a lineup of world-renowned electronic music artists including Carl Cox, Marcel Dettmann and Ricardo Villalobos. Vietnam’s largest rose park to open in Hanoi

The park is supposed to be the largest in Vietnam with the presence of thousands of rose species. The rose park will open in September 2. A park in Hanoi spanning an area of 22 hectares, in which a five-hectare plot was used merely for rose planting made debut on July 18 and is scheduled to officially open for visitors on September 2. Located in Thach Ban ward, Long Bien District, the park is about ten kilometers from Hanoi city's center and two kilometers from bridges of Vinh Tuy and Thanh Tri.  As planned, there will be 150,000 roses of over 715 species that come from varied sources, some of which have presented in Vietnam for more than a century like the velvety rose from provinces like Sapa, Hue or pink rose from Hai Phong, etc. Nguyen Thanh Trung, vice general director of Dio Land Company, the project’s operator said that there are currently 209 species of rose that originate from Bulgaria among 715 in total. “Some roses that have their roots in England and … [Read more...] about Vietnam’s largest rose park to open in Hanoi
