Mum goes blind after parasite BURROWS into her eye – after swimming with her contact lenses in

· September 14, 2018 ·

A MUM has spoken of the “miracle” which restored her sight after a parasite burrowed into her left eye when she swam wearing contact lenses. Hotel financial controller Emma Jenkins, 39, from Bournemouth, Dorset, was on holiday at a caravan park in Scotland when she took a dip in the on-site pool without removing her lenses. Back at home a week later, she began to suffer from severe pain in her left eye. Emma went to see her GP but just three days later, lost her sight thanks to a microscopic bacteria causing an ulcer which destroyed her cornea. The mother of two said: “I had no idea that wearing contact lenses in the pool was so risky. I left them in so I could see. “It’s really frightening how quickly it happened. I was only swimming for about 20 minutes, yet it cost me the sight in one eye. “When I got out of the pool, my left eye was irritated, so I went back to our caravan and took my lenses out, as it was hurting so much.” Over the next … [Read more...] about Mum goes blind after parasite BURROWS into her eye – after swimming with her contact lenses in

Pricing Discussions and Allegations of Agreements: 2015 Cases Not Involving Contact Lenses

· December 26, 2015 ·

All antitrust lawyers understand the dangers of price discussions with competitors. But even vertical price discussions—those with suppliers or retailers—can later raise antitrust issues. The most recent vivid examples are the cases Johnson & Johnson is defending against Costco and others after it imposed a Colgate program following discussions with various resellers. Surdej, et. al. In Hannah’s Boutique, Inc. v. Surdej, et. al., (2015 WL 4052404, 7/2/15 ND Ill.) a new Chicago-area retailer of prom dresses (Hannah’s) sued its larger, older rival (Peaches) under various state and federal antitrust theories, including group boycott and vertical … [Read more...] about Pricing Discussions and Allegations of Agreements: 2015 Cases Not Involving Contact Lenses
