The owners of Vaporizeme Smoke & Tobacco on SW 8th Street in Miami say the family-owned business was burglarized twice in 48 hours, this past Monday and Tuesday. The popularity of e-cigarettes among younger Americans is drawing mounting scrutiny from federal regulators. Citing a wish "to better understand the youth appeal of these products," the Food and Drug Administration said Thursday that four manufacturers of e-cigarettes have until July 12 to hand over documents related to their marketing strategies and product designs. Introduced as a means of helping smokers kick the habit, or at least switch to a nicotine-delivery vehicle containing less deadly tar and chemicals, e-cigarettes have instead become the most commonly used tobacco product among U.S. youth, who are … [Read more...] about FDA: “Too many kids” experimenting with e-cigarettes, vaping

E-cigs and vaping pens come with a tiny sensor and computer chip that activate a heater, which warms up the nicotine inside every time a person takes a draw. When the liquid nicotine warms up it vapourises, creating a vapour that users can then suck through the mouthpiece. That includes vape shops that sell tiny rechargeable e-cigarettes, which officials say have found favor among high school students despite Chicago’s ban on sales of such products to people under 21.The signs would explain the dangers of smoking and include phone numbers that smokers can call to get help quitting.Emanuel’s public health commissioner, Dr. Julie Morita, told the council License Committee that while cigarette smoking among teens in Chicago is down over the past several years, use of e-cigarettes and cigars is on the rise because kids don’t think they’re as dangerous.“There have been surveys and studies done recently … [Read more...] about Posting signs outside of Chicago tobacco stores could warn teens of vaping dangers, officials say
