Locals in Tavistock, Devon, are up in arms over plans for a large hotel in the middle of the town sat on the edge of picturesque Dartmoor. They plan to fight a new chain store "predator", after successfully preventing McDonald's from moving in ten years ago. The fast-food giant was forced to shut when it was shunned by locals keen to keep corporations out of their home. West Devon Borough Council has sparked fighting spirit once more after saying it wants to get a yearly rent from the major hotelier.
