Legislation to overhaul the elections board itself failed late in the recently concluded General Assembly session. Republican lawmakers wanted to expand the board from three to six members, with equal representation from both of the two major parties. Northam and other Democrats felt the board should have five members, with the governor’s party still having a 3-2 advantage similar to the 2-1 advantage Democrats currently have. Poll: 1 in 5 Americans Have Participated in Political Rallies
30 percent of rallygoers approve of Trump, while 70 percent disapprove. 40 percent of rallygoers are Democrats, 36 percent are independents, and 20 percent are Republicans. 29 percent of rallygoers had been to some college, and 27 percent graduated college. 23 percent had done post-grad work, while 21 percent had an education level of high school or less. 52 percent supported solely liberal causes. 12 percent supported only conservative positions.
