Weddings have taken on many forms over the years, and while you used to be tied down to a strictly formal affair with guests in posh dresses and expensive suits, there are many who now opt for a much more laidback approach that allows guests to wear whatever they feel comfortable in. A woman claims to have recently found herself uninvited to her own sister-in-law's upcoming wedding after the bride-to-be informed her that she wanted 'all eyes to be on me, not you'. Although she said that she'd be happy to 'skip makeup and wear a simple dress' so as not to outshine the bride on her big day, her sister-in-law wasn't having any of it. According to the dismissed wedding guest, her sister-in-law has always been jealous of her appearance, commenting on her clothes and make-up, and telling her she should dress her age - despite her only being 24. A determined woman refused to sulk when her wedding had to be postponed due to Covid , and used the extra time to lose more than 11 stone ahead of her new big day. Melissa Williams, from Bridgend, south Wales, was heartbroken when the pandemic scuppered her plans to wed fiancé Chris in the summer of 2020. But she soon let the lockdown delay inspire her to slim right down for when she did finally ie the knot, WalesOnline report. The mum was 25st 4lbs and a size 30 when she was due to get hitched nearly two years ago, but when she walked down the aisle in April the 27-year-old was almost half the size. A husband and wife used a kitchen knife to fight off a bear that broke into their Wisconsin home as their children slept. Taylor County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) was alerted to the bear attack inside the home in Castle Road, near Medford, about 11 p.m. local time (midnight ET) on Friday. According to CBS affiliate WSAW, the couple first noticed a bear was outside their home eating from the bird feeder before they opened a window and yelled for it to go away. But the bear charged, broke through a window and entered the home. During the fight, one of the couple grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the bear before the husband was able to get a firearm and shoot the bear dead while it was still inside the house. Both the husband and wife sustained numerous injuries in the attack; they have been released following treatment. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a fresh FIR against five officials of the West Bengal Education Department in connection with the appointment of “undeserving and unlisted candidates” as Group C staff in various schools. The FIR follows the directions of a Division Bench and a single Bench of the Calcutta High Court after the court took note of the irregularities in the recruitment process . Charges have been pressed under Section 120 (Criminal Conspiracy), 417 (cheating), 465 ( forgery), 468 ( forgery for the purpose of cheating), and under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act. With the Centre slashing the excise duty on petrol and diesel, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on May 22 said it was the duty of not only Uttar Pradesh but also of other States to immediately announce a cut in VAT on fuel. Petrol price on May 22 was slashed by ₹8.69 a litre and that of diesel by ₹7.05 per litre following the government's decision to cut excise duty on auto fuels, giving relief to consumers battered by high fuel prices that had pushed inflation to a record high. In a tweet in Hindi, Mayawati said, "After a long time, the Centre has given some relief by reducing charges on petrol-diesel to the people who were forced to live a miserable life due to rising inflation, poverty, unemployment and stress. Retired Angelyn Burk and her husband Richard plan to spend 86 days on board the five-star vessels in the coming months. They say it actually saves them money after picking up some great deals with the cost of living soaring across the world. Their travel plans for 2022 will take them to Mexico, Costa Rica, Canada, Alaska, Japan, Indonesia and Vietnam. A woman has died in hospital from Covid after learning she and her husband were infected while on a Mediterranean cruise. The British 60-year-old failed to survive respiratory complications which arose because of the virus. She died at the San Giovanni di Dio e Ruggi d'Aragona hospital in Italy on Friday morning. Her husband who she was travelling with also had the condition but has not had any life-threatening symptoms. They had both spent days in isolation after testing positive when the Bolette vessel arrived in port at Salerno on Wednesday night.
