Because Teigen’s abortion is politically inconvenient for Republicans, Cruz has declared that it is not an abortion at all. Abortion, according to Republicans, is defined solely by those procedures they find morally objectionable. Before the fall of Roe , abortion as an issue was an effective component of Republican politicians’ culture war messaging — a satisfyingly bloody emblem of the loose women and feminists created and emboldened by the left. But having now caught the tiger by its tail and enabled strict abortion bans in states across the country, they are struggling to reckon with the reality that … [Read more...] about Ted Cruz knows all about Chrissy Teigen’s abortion because he checked the vibes

Induction of the indigenously designed and developed Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) adds unique capability to the combat potential of the Indian Air Force (IAF) and marks a new chapter, said Air Chief Marshal (ACM) V. R. Chaudhari on Monday as the twin-engine helicopter was formally inducted into the 143 Helicopter Unit ‘Dhanush’ at the Jodhpur Air Force Station. “The induction of LCH underlines the fact that just as the country trusts the IAF, the IAF equally trusts the indigenous equipment,” said Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who presided over the induction ceremony. Stating that the LCH met the requirements of modern warfare and necessary quality parameters under varied conditions of operations, Mr. Singh said it fully met the requirements of both the Army and the Air Force. The Army had formally received its first LCH in Bengaluru last week. The ceremony saw a ‘sarwa dharam puja’ followed by a ceremonial water cannon salute to the helicopter. Mr. Singh also took a sortie … [Read more...] about Induction of indigenously built Light Combat Helicopter marks a new chapter: Air chief
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — More than 1 million Minnesotans have qualified for bonus checks to frontline workers to recognize their work during the COVID-19 pandemic, but the payments will be for less than $500, the governor's office announced Monday. The state will start sending out the payments on Wednesday. The Legislature approved a total of $500 million for eligible applicants, and Gov. Tim Walz signed it into law in April. Nearly 1.2 million applications were submitted during the 45-day application period this summer. The state approved 1,025,655 of them, which means the individual payments will be $487.45. Frontline workers who chose direct deposit should get their money within seven to 10 business days; those who chose to get their payments via debit cards will get them within three to four weeks. State officials originally estimated the final pool of qualified workers would be around 667,000 with payments of about $750 apiece, but applications exceeded expectations. … [Read more...] about Minnesota’s 1M frontline worker bonuses will be for $487
