When a beloved pet goes missing without trace, it is heartbreaking for those left behind. So you can imagine one family's joy when their cat returned home nine months after she was last seen. Willow, who was presumed dead, shocked her owners when she reappeared during the Euro final on Sunday. But there were more surprises in store for the family, who later realised Willow had been living nearby with an elderly neighbour - while they had been none the wiser. Whether or not Willow was inspired by the Lionesses remains to be seen, but her owners were ecstatic she took the message "it's coming home" to heart. Umm what
‘My kid is bullied over her name – I think it’s fine but some say I’m a bad mum’
Baby names are often a point of contention between parents, and if you ever post your child's name on social media, it's likely you'll be faced with comments from people judging you for your choice. And while any parent is free to name their child whatever they want to, we can probably all admit that we've seen a name or two that has made us raise our eyebrows . One mum , however, has claimed that her 12-year-old daughter has been bullied at school over her name - even though the mum thinks it's a "very nice and common" moniker. The youngster's name? Kevin. Mum with 11 boys is ‘immune’ to birth control and pregnant with 13th baby
Some parents are keen to have both a boy and a girl, and will sometimes have more children than they planned to get one of each - but one mum's taken that to the extreme . Alexis Brett, 42, had ten boys in a row and while many would have resigned themselves and given up by that point, she carried on trying for a baby girl. She was relieved when a scan detected her 11th child would be a girl and in 2019 baby Cameron was welcomed into the family - and since then Alexis has had another boy, Orran. But Alexis and her partner, 47-year-old David, a retired train driver, didn't stop there and now they're having baby number 13 - and as luck would have it, it's another girl. Now Alexis, who's a stay-at-home mum, says that she's had enough and her 13th child will be her last. The Brett family is about to get a bit bigger ( Image: Les Wilson / Caters News) What do you think about the Brett's incredible family? Let us know in the comments... ‘Shameful’ man plagiarised TV show in exam – but some point out massive mistake
A man who confessed to plagiarising an episode of a TV show in an English exam he sat when he was 11 years old has been told he made a big mistake - in more ways than one. In an anonymous online post, the man admitted he had been sitting his Year 6 SATs in 2002 and had come up against a question in the English paper that asked him to "write a story" to test his creative writing ability. Unable to come up with a story of his own, the man claimed he simply copied the plot of an episode of the animated TV series Futurama titled Fry and the Slurm Factory, and hoped that whoever marked his paper would be "such a boring person" that they wouldn't have seen the show and therefore would have no idea what he had done. Neighbour mocked for ‘passive aggressive’ drawing after ranking driver’s parking
For many of us, there's nothing more annoying than terrible parking. So when you spot an inconsiderate driver, it can be tempting to point out their poor behaviour. Well, one person who could not hold back left a note for their neighbour - but ended up as the butt of the joke when fellow residents spotted it. The passive aggressive note was shared to Reddit , after it was spotted by one such nosy neighbour. And people have been left in hysterics by the neighbour's letter, which features hand-drawn diagrams illustrating the "correct way to park". In the picture, three cars can be seen parked within their allocated bays, whereas a diagram below features two cars taking up four bays. Puppies escape as husband on “night duty” falls asleep in funny viral video
The internet is in stitches over two puppies' escape, after a video showing a husband falling asleep while watching his pets— and leaving them unsupervised—went viral on social media. In a pet-cam video shared on TikTok by the man's wife, Dawn Byrne, who is known on the platform by the username poodlecrazylady, the puppies can be seen crawling out of their bed and running toward the other room, until the owners' bigger dog woke up and helped get them back to where they belonged. All of this happened while the husband , who was supposed to be watching them all night, fell asleep. The video came with a caption that read: "When the husband's on puppy night duty and I'm woken at 4.40 am Sunday morning to find puppies have escaped." In 2022, 70 percent of U.S. households reported owning at least one pet, which equates to 90.5 million homes, according to the latest report by the American Pet Products Association. Of these, 45.3 million are cats and 69 million are dogs . The … [Read more...] about Puppies escape as husband on “night duty” falls asleep in funny viral video
Family have two kettles – and what they use second one for ‘should be illegal’
Owning two kettles might seem like a strange concept for some people - but that's nowhere near the worst part of this story. One woman has revealed what her family use their second device for and it's left people feeling rather terrified. The mum posted on Reddit to explain that her friends believe her family are all 'crazy' - and it's hard for anyone to disagree with that assessment. Rather than backing her up, everyone commenting on her post was either taking the mick or trying to compute what was happening in their heads. She began the post by asking: "I recently asked my friends about this and they’ve all said my family are all crazy. I’m wondering if anyone else has grown up doing the same?" Soup in a kettle! Does it belong? ( Image: Getty Images/iStockphoto) Get the news you want straight to your inbox. Sign up for a Mirror newsletter here . "Basically, in our kitchen we have two kettles.
