I’m actually here to speak directly to Donald Trump," began Barbara L’Italien, a Massachusetts state senator mistakenly booked on the show. By Jenna Amatulli “Fox & Friends First” on Monday booked the wrong guest, who lectured the show’s hosts during an awkward moment about why President Donald Trump’s family separation immigration policy is so bad. In a clip making the rounds on social media, the hosts introduced Democratic Arizona congressional candidate Ann Kirkpatrick, who has been in the news for supporting Immigration and Customs Enforcement. But Kirkpatrick wasn’t who showed up. Barbara L’Italien appeared instead. And she did not come to play. L’Italien is a Democratic state senator in Massachusetts. She was prepared with a message for Trump. “Good morning. I’m actually here to speak directly to … [Read more...] about ‘Fox & Friends’ Books Wrong Guest And Gets An Earful From Anti-Trump Democrat

Trump’s ICE Chief Loves His Deportation Force — And Thinks You Should Too
POLITICS 04/13/2018 12:40 pm ET Updated 23 minutes ago Thomas Homan is unlike anyone who has run Immigration and Customs Enforcement before. What happens when you put a cop in charge of deporting people? By Roque Planas 170 The day Thomas Homan turned the immigration debate on its head, he could have just presented his agency’s budget request like he was asked. The first nine people to lead Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the agency President Donald Trump picked Homan to lead last January, rarely courted controversy. Moreover, it doesn’t address the bigger issue — the need for comprehensive immigration reform that balances border security with the reality that we now have generations of undocumented immigrants who have grown up here and are, for all intents and purposes, Americans. We need reform with compassion that recognizes that people trying to cross our borders — legally or illegally — are often fleeing violence and gang activity in Central America … [Read more...] about Editorial: Trump tacitly admits lie about splitting families
Lawsuit over immigrants detained in Victorville prison comes to LA court
By City News Service | PUBLISHED: June 25, 2018 at 8:27 am | UPDATED: June 25, 2018 at 8:27 am LOS ANGELES — A federal judge in Los Angeles is expected to hear arguments Monday in the ACLU’s emergency lawsuit calling for an end to what it describes as the “unconstitutional denial” of attorney access to immigrants being detained by the Trump administration at a prison complex in the High Desert. According to the complaint, hundreds of immigrants were moved from detention facilities to the medium security federal prison in Victorville, which is about 60 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles. The detainees are being held “incommunicado,” the nonprofit organization says in its complaint, filed June 19 in federal court in Los Angeles. In a victory over the government’s “zero tolerance” detention policy, U.S. District Judge Otis D. Wright II on Thursday approved a temporary restraining order compelling officials to give the … [Read more...] about Lawsuit over immigrants detained in Victorville prison comes to LA court
