Gorka: Trump Won’t Seek Regime Change in Syria

· April 10, 2018 ·

President Donald Trump will respond to the suspected weekend chemical attack in Syria in two ways, both covert and behind the scenes, but he won't be seeking a change in Syria President Bashar Assad's regime, Dr. Sebastian Gorka, a former deputy assistant to the president, said Tuesday. "It's not about regime change," Gorka, now a Fox News security strategist, told "Fox and Friends." "It's about sending a message and hurting the elite that is being so evil in that country." During a meeting Monday evening in the Cabinet Room at the White House, the president said he'll respond "forcefully" to Saturday's suspected attack on rebel-held Douma, east of Damascus, which ended in the deaths of an estimated 40 people, including women and children. Trump made his remarks while meeting with his top military leaders, including Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and Gen. Joseph Dunford, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Iran’s Former Ambassador Admits Regime Change Is Only Option for Iran

· August 7, 2018 ·

Iran’s former ambassador to Germany, Hamid Mousavian, made an argument on Ohio-based talk show Going Global with David Delgado Monday evening that regime change is truly the only option for the Islamic Republic, because the nation will not change its behavior and “behave like a normal country” to have sanctions removed, as United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and the Trump administration has suggested. This Breitbart News reporter called into the show on Monday and asked Mousavian, “Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has said that it is possible for the United States to lift the sanctions that will be reimposed on Iran, but that it will take ‘enormous change’ and that Iran must ‘behave like a normal country.’ Do you interpret this as meaning regime change for Iran?”LISTEN:  https://media.breitbart.com/media/2018/08/adelle.phone_.call_.mp3 Mousavian responded by saying that America, instead, “should become a normal … [Read more...] about Iran’s Former Ambassador Admits Regime Change Is Only Option for Iran

Haley: No US Effort for ‘Regime Change’ in Iran

· September 23, 2018 ·

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley on Sunday said America isn’t seeking a regime change in Iran. In an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Haley pushed back on remarks by President Donald Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, that the administration sympathizes with overthrow efforts by Iran’s self-declared government in exile. “We’re not looking to do a regime change in Iran or anywhere,” Haley said. “We're looking to protect Americans, our allies and make sure we do everything we can to stop it.  “The president has been very strong on Iran and has been strong that we can't turn away from them, that they're a bad actor,” she continued. “You'll continue to see him strong in terms of every action we take there. Iran's economy has plummeted because the president pulled out of the deal. They're getting desperate and I think we're seeing the actions of that.” She also touted the … [Read more...] about Haley: No US Effort for ‘Regime Change’ in Iran
