Homebuyers who booked flats in housing projects in the Noida-Greater Noida property market are worst affected, with over 1.65 lakh flats worth ₹1.18 lakh crore currently stalled or significantly delayed in these two cities, according to property consultant Anarock. In its research, the consultant has taken only those housing projects that were launched in 2014 or before, across seven big property markets -- Delhi-NCR, Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune. Expressing concern over the plight of customers whose investments are at stake, Forum for People's Collective Efforts' (FPCE), an apex body of homebuyers, president Abhay Upadhyay told PTI that the cause of the delay of each project should be ascertained and solutions must be found. Madras High Court refuses to stay FIR against former Minister SP Velumani
The Madras High Court on Monday refused to stay all further proceedings pursuant to registration of a First Information Report (FIR) registered against former AIADMK Minister S.P. Velumani for alleged irregularities in award of corporation contracts. Chief Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari and Justice N. Mala rejected a plea for interim stay. They directed Advocate General R Shunmugasundaram, representing Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption, to file a counter affidavit to the FIR quash petition within three weeks. Senior Counsel N.R. Elango representing DMK’s R.S. Bharathi and advocate V. Suresh, representing anti corruption outfit Arappor Iyakkam, were also given time to file their counter affidavits. A man in the United Kingdom lost his phone by dropping it in the river about a year ago. Now, the man claims that the smartphone has been returned to him, and is in working condition. In a Facebook post, a man named Miguel Pacheco said that he had found an iPhone while canoeing in the Wye River in Wales. The man said that he took the phone with himself and dried it properly. The next day, he charged the smartphone and the device was still working, and had a photo of a couple as the screen saver, with the date, August 13 2021.
