Merlin boss Nick Varney told the Press Association that London’s tourist trade has been badly hit by the attacks, and it will take “some time” to return to 2016 levels. Shares in the company were down 7.7% in early trading. Revenue grew 4.7% on an organic basis in the 40 weeks to October 6 2018, or 2.6% on a reported basis. Growth was driven by new business development, which includes the launch of two new brands: Peppa Pig World of Play and The Bear Grylls Adventure. A NEWLY qualified nurse took her own life just two months after working on child victims of the Manchester Arena terror attack, an inquest heard. Clara Malagon, 22, was on-duty on the night of the atrocity which took 22 lives - she saw the horrific injuries sustained by the young victims in the bombing. She successfully underwent counselling and had a detailed debrief about the bombing with senior doctors - but in July last year just seven weeks after the tragedy Miss Malagon was found hanged on the balcony of her first floor apartment in Manchester city centre. It is not known why she killed herself. An inquest heard Miss Malagon from Twickenham, South-West London had completed a degree in nursing at Manchester University and became a critical care nurse at Manchester Royal Infirmary in 2016. She was a keen rower and enjoyed cycling running and walking and also played the viola and took up ballet and flamenco dancing. THE attack in New York has provided the latest example of vehicles being used to plough into victims in the name of terror. The incident, which is being treated as an act of terror, bears similarities to truck rampages in Stockholm, Nice and Berlin. It comes just 11 months after a partially exploded bomb was left on a tube train – the last major incident to rock Britain.
