5 things suburban schools want as legislative priorities

Suburban school boards are set to help decide the legislative priorities of the state's association of school boards, and here's what's on their minds: energy savings, safety drills, charter school funding, mental health and student voter registration. These are among topics suggested by suburban districts for consideration of all member districts within the Illinois Association of School Boards during its annual conference Nov. 16-18 in Chicago. Related Link Primary 2018: Officials note smooth process thus far Unofficial voting results from Tuesday’s primary elections in Utah, as of midnight Tuesday night. In partisan races, the leading vote-getter in each contest advances to the Nov. 6 general election. Key to party affiliations: (R) Republican, (D) Democrat. “Inc” denotes incumbent. School board elections are nonpartisan. In those primaries, the top two vote-getters for each office advance to the general election. These results do not include provisional ballots or mail-in votes that were not received by Tuesday. Results are not official until votes are canvassed next month. I FEEL compelled to put pen to paper in response to the article printed in your newspaper written by rail enthusiast and record producer Pete Waterman (The Yorkshire Post, February 2).Pete Waterman: Why I’m backing HS2 to unleash true potential of Yorkshire Mr Waterman waxes lyrical about the benefits that HS2 will bring to the people of Doncaster, all of which would be wonderful but for one significant point... there are no plans for HS2 to stop in Doncaster.
