The State’s daily COVID-19 caseload crossed the 600-mark for the third time this month with 658 new infections being reported on Tuesday. This is a significant jump from Monday’s 540 positive cases. A total of 30,552 samples were examined and reports on 716 tests were awaited. Hyderabad logged 316 cases while Rangareddy recorded 52 cases and Medchal-Malkagjiri 41 cases. Nagarkurnool, Nirmal and Jayashankar-Bhupalapally districts did not recorded even a single case. There have been no fresh fatalities due to the virus and the toll remains 4,111. Stage set for launch of Telangana police’s command control centre
The Telangana police’s Integrated Command Control Centre (ICCC) is all set for inauguration on Thursday. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will join senior police officers of the State in opening the mammoth multi-agency operations centre. An iconic landmark and centre of excellence for some, surveillance behemoth and the nerve centre of predictive policing for others, the ICCC was conceptualised as part of modernisation of police force following Telangana’s formation. In November 2015, Mr Chandrasekhar Rao had laid the foundation for the centre, whose initial estimated budget was ₹300 crore. The construction was assigned to Shapoorji Pallonji Group while the technology consultation and digital solutions were delivered by L&T Infotech and other multi-national groups. Centre admits fall in Rabi paddy procurement from Telangana
The Centre has drastically reduced paddy procurement from Telangana with the procurement coming down to 28.96 lakh metric tonnes in Rabi 2021-22 as against 61.87 lakh metric tonnes in 2020-21. The figures were revealed by Union Minister of State for Food and Public Distribution Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti in a reply to a question raised by Nalgonda MP N. Uttam Kumar Reddy in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. Mr. Reddy blamed both the BJP and the TRS governments for the poor procurement and their paddy politics at the cost of farmers. “They have jointly destroyed Telangana’s paddy farmers by reducing procurement by over 50%. Advocate Chada Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy was sworn in as Judge of Telangana High Court here on Thursday, August 4, 2022 Telangana High Court Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan has administered the oath of office to Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy at the First Court hall on the HC premises around 10 a.m. The High Court Registrar General K. Sujana first read out the notification of the President appointing the lawyer as judge. Subsequently, the Chief Justice administered the oath of office to the new judge. With Justice Vijay Bhaskar Reddy assuming charge, the strength of judges in Telangana High Court rose to 27 in addition to the Chief Justice. Telangana’s COVID caseload hovers around 1,000-mark
A day after recording 1,054 COVID-19 cases, Telangana’s daily caseload hovered around the 1,000-mark on Wednesday. As many as 992 persons tested positive for coronavirus with 41,182 samples being tested. The day before, 44,202 tests had been conducted. The new 992 infections included 376 from Hyderabad, 65 from Rangareddy, 54 from Medchal Malkajgiri, 37 from Nizamabad, 32 each from Yadadri Bhuvanagiri and Khammam. There were 37 COVID patients in ICU across private and government hospitals, 101 on oxygen beds, and 89 on regular beds. Altogether, 227 patients were hospitalised. The number of patients in hospitals crossed 200 on July 30. The active caseload stands at 6,132 and the cumulative case tally at 8,22,663. Daily COVID caseload in Telangana breaches 1,000-mark
The number of COVID-19 cases in Telangana on Tuesday crossed the 1,000-mark even as 44,202 samples were tested. In all, 1,054 positive cases were reported with the cumulative figure touching 8,21,671. On Monday, 771 cases had been reported. Of the daily caseload, Hyderabad’s share was 396 infections followed by 60 each Medchal-Malkajgiri and Rangareddy districts. This was followed by Nalgonda (49), Karimnagar (46), Rajanna Sircilla (36), Peddapalli and Khammam (35 each), Mancherial (31), Siddipet (30), Sangareddy (29), Hanumakonda (27) and Mahabubabad (24). Other districts recorded less than 20 cases. The case fatality rate stood at 0.50% while the recovery rate was recorded at 98.77%. The number of persons declared recovered on Tuesday stood at 795. Telangana Schools Change Timings, Now to Begin from 9 am Instead of 8 am
The Telangana Social Welfare Gurukula Vidyalaya has changed the timings of its schools. Earlier, the classes were held from 8 am to 4.30 pm. Now the authorities have changed the school timing to 9 am. Known as Gurukula educational institutions, the responsibility of managing these Gurukuls has been entrusted to IAS and IPS officers. The secretary of the Telangana Social Welfare Gurukula Vidyalaya, Ronald Rose, has issued the orders regarding the change in the school timings on Monday. The announcement stated that the schools will start at 9 am and end at 4.30 pm. As per the new timings, students have to wake up at 5 am on working days. After that, they have to take their tiffin from 7.30 to 8.30 am. After the school ends, in the evening, students have to take snacks from 4.30 pm to 5 pm. Over 1,000 COVID cases second time in a week in Telangana
Telangana has recorded over 1,000 COVID-19 cases twice within a span of a week for the second time after a gap of over five-and-a-half months. The State recorded 1,054 infections on Tuesday and the daily caseload on Thursday was 1,061. The last time over 1,000 cases recorded was on February 8 of this year, when the same number of 1,061 infections were detected. While 43318 samples were put to test on Thursday, results of 740 were awaited. Of the 1,061 new infections 401 are from Hyderabad, 63 from Rangareddy, 56 from Medchal Malkajgiri and 51 from Nalgonda. From March 2, 2020 to August 4 of this year, a total of 3.66 crore samples were put to test and 8,23,734 were detected with coronavirus.
