SC extends services of sacked Tripura government teachers
NEW DELHI/AGARTALA: The Supreme Court on Thursday extended the services of sacked 10,323 Tripura government teachers by two more years, as appealed for by the state government, an official said. "A bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi responding to the state government appeal, extended the services of the 10,323 government teachers for two more years. It also directed the Centre to consider giving relaxation in the matter of training and professional qualifications within four months," an official of Tripura's Law Department said. He said the bench directed the state government to stick to the TET (Teachers' Eligibility Test) method of recruitment as well as to encourage job seekers to complete the required professional courses like B.Ed (Bachelor of Education). NEW DELHI: This year, 12 lakh youngsters sat for the annual JEE Main for admission to engineering institutions. Predictably, many could not make the grade, while others would have wanted to improve their scores, but their next opportunity would have come only a year later. This will no longer be the case, with the government announcing on Saturday that from 2019, aspirants will be able to sit twice a year for not only JEE Main, but also NEET for entry into medical colleges. Examinees will be able to appear for JEE Main in January and April of every year and for NEET in February and May for the academic sessions beginning in August of that year. This will allow an examinee to choose either of the months to attempt the engineering or medical entrance test, or to repeat the test if the first score doesn't prove satisfactory. NEW DELHI: PhD degree has been made mandatory for direct recruitment to the post of assistant professors in universities from 2021-22, Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar said on Wednesday. However, masters degree with National Eligibility Test (NET) or PhD would continue to be the minimum eligibility criteria for direct recruitment in colleges, a senior official said. UP govt to conduct exam for recruitment of assistant teachers’ on May 27
LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh government will on Tuesday advertise the post of assistant teachers in primary schools. On Monday, the government released the schedule for Assistant Teacher Recruitment Examination slated on May 27 for appointment of teachers in government primary schools in the state. In a government order issued on Monday, special secretary, basic education AS Rajlingam said the advertisement for ATRE will be issued on May 8. Online window for registrations will open on May 14 and will close on May 15. The fee will be submitted online on May 16. Post making payment, candidates can apply online till May 17 till 6 pm. Candidates can make corrections in the application form, if any, can do so on May 21 from 11 am to 6 pm. The admit card for the ATRE will be uploaded on the website on May 24.
