Taylor Swift reportedly used facial recognition software to detect potential stalkers at her Rose Bowl concert in May, according to Rolling Stone. Fans attending the May 18th show who watched a display of Swift rehearsing were the unwitting targets of a facial-recognition camera that reportedly took their photos. Rolling Stone reports that the images taken by the camera were transferred from Passadena, California, to a Nashville "command post," where they were checked against a database of Swift's hundreds of known stalkers. Mike Dowling, chief security officer of Oak View Group, an advisory board for concert venues, told Rolling Stone, "Everybody who went by would stop and stare at it, and the software would start working." Downing said he attended the concert and saw a demo of the system. Swift's team did not comment. It's not clear who owns the pictures and what ultimately happened to them, but Rolling Stone reports that it's not the only time facial recognition … [Read more...] about Taylor Swift reportedly used facial recognition technology to detect stalkers at Rose Bowl concert
Taylor Swift announced that her "Reputation" tour would be made into a Netflix special with the release of a moody trailer that opens with ominous hints at her past."When she fell, she fell hard," the trailer begins, with Swift's own narration. "When she finally rose, she rose slowly. She heard echoes of new words. Without your past, you could never have arrived here. The Montgomery County native released "Reputation" in August 2017, beginning with the revenge-hit "Look What You Made Me Do" that addressed all of the Swift controversies of the past few years. The song "killed" the old Taylor, who we will lovingly remember by "Our Song" and "Red." Sigh. But LWYMMD was a hit with Swifties (her devoted fans) for its … [Read more...] about Taylor Swift just announced the ‘Reputation’ tour will be a Netflix special and dropped a trailer

Pop star Taylor Swift’s hard-left political activism this year couldn’t save her from an embarrassing Grammy snub, with her album Reputation not getting nominated for Best Album. “Taylor Swift, a long-time Grammy fave with two album of the year wins under her belt misses the Big 4 entirely, with reputation only getting a nod for best pop vocal album,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.Jay-Z and Beyonce’s duo album Everything Is Love also missed out on big nominations for Record of the Year and Album of the Year. Taylor Swift, Jay-Z, and Beyonce have all spent the year engaging in left-wing activism, but not with much success. Swift endorsed Tennessee Democrat Phil Bredesen, who was later defeated by Republican Marsha Blackburn. “Her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me,” the “Look What You Made Me Do” singer said of Blackburn in October. “She voted against equal pay for women. She voted against … [Read more...] about Grammys Snub Taylor Swift Even After Hard-Left Political Turn
With 84 Grammy Award categories, each year's list of nominations can be counted on to deliver a number of surprises for the music industry. This year, Kendrick Lamar leads the Grammy Awards nominations with eight nods for producing and curating the soundtrack for "Black Panther"; the track "All the Stars" by Lamar and SZA alone is up for four awards. But the Recording Academy continued its fraught relationship with Jay-Z and Beyoncé by shutting out their joint album "Everything is Love" from major categories. Here are some other snubs and surprises from Friday's announcement. Snub: Jay-Z and Beyoncé Though Jay-Z was the most nominated artist at last year's Grammy Awards, with eight nods, he did not pick up a single trophy, prompting the rapper to perform the lyric "Tell the Grammys f**k that 0 for 8 s**t" on his track "APES**T." Jay-Z has voiced his discontent with the Recording Academy before. In 2017, his wife, Beyoncé received nine Grammy nominations, but … [Read more...] about Grammy snubs and surprises: Jay-Z and Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande shut out form major categories
