Litmus Test for Chennaiyin Against Kerala; Mumbai, RFYC Look for First Win
Goa: A spirited Chennaiyin FC will hope to halt the Kerala Blasters FC juggernaut when the two sides meet in a third-round match of the Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL) at the Nagoa Ground here on Saturday. In another tie later in the day, Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RFYC) will want to take their fighting performance in the last game to Mumbai City FC as both teams look for their first win in the campaign. Chennaiyin produced a fighting performance against Jamshedpur FC in their last fixture, conceding a last-gasp goal to end the game as it started at 2-2. It was a bitter pill to swallow for a side that responded to Jamshedpur’s challenge, scoring twice from a goal down to take the lead and almost securing their first win before falling at the last hurdle. Whether Chennaiyin have really turned a corner after their underwhelming performance in the first match will be gauged against Kerala who have looked the part so far. It will be a litmus test for Cleofas … [Read more...] about Litmus Test for Chennaiyin Against Kerala; Mumbai, RFYC Look for First Win

How a Tax Case Could Force Roger Stone to Cough Up Jan. 6 Records
Roger Stone is not cooperating. But soon, he might not have a choice. On Monday, Justice Department prosecutors asked a federal judge to compel Stone and his wife to turn over all of their financial statements and bank account information from 2017 to the present. The request is part of a tax evasion lawsuit brought against the Stones last year. But for the MAGA world’s preeminent cocktail-clutching coxcomb, it could carry ramifications well beyond the IRS. The judge’s order would force the Stones to disclose a potential treasure trove of evidence. Prosecutors would obtain records of any financial activity of Stone tied to the Jan. 6 riot and “Stop the Steal” efforts, as well as potential payments from pardon-seekers, politicians, and private boosters—and, possibly, information about accounts that the Stones haven’t yet disclosed. So far, however, the Stones have refused to comply. Federal prosecutors filed the multimillion-dollar lawsuit against the Stones last … [Read more...] about How a Tax Case Could Force Roger Stone to Cough Up Jan. 6 Records
Embarrassing Bodies doctor Christian Jessen caught malaria in a Ugandan jail
When they first begin their studies, very few medical students know what they will specialise in. But for Embarrassing Bodies presenter Dr Christian Jessen, his gap year travels made his choice easy – he would home in on malaria. After all, he had only just recovered from the deadly tropical disease himself. Christian, who had recently returned from 12 months teaching at a school in Kenya, says it was one of the worse experiences of his life. While the star of Channel 4’s Supersize vs Superskinny had been careful to take his malaria tablets, an unpleasant brush with the law had seen him separated from his pills. Doctor Christian Jessen contracted the deadly disease in his early doctoring days "It was part of a scam that happened quite a lot in those days," says Christian, 42, who lives in South London. "I was 19 and escorting a school trip to neighbouring Uganda. While photographing the source of the Nile, I was arrested, accused of spying and thrown in jail." He … [Read more...] about Embarrassing Bodies doctor Christian Jessen caught malaria in a Ugandan jail
Russia begins new offensive in the Donbas region
This live blog is now closed. For the latest updates please check here . Russia began a new offensive Monday in Ukraine's eastern Donbas region, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said. Russia in recent days had been building up its forces for an attack on what is Ukraine’s industrial heartland, where Moscow-backed separatists have been fighting Kyiv for eight years. “We will not give away anything Ukrainian, and we do not need anything that is not ours,” Zelenskyy said. Explosions also rocked Lviv on Monday in a rare and deadly attack on the western Ukrainian city — up to now a safe hub for refugees , Western officials and the media — as the world braces for a major Russian offensive farther east . At least seven people were killed in the Russian missile strikes, Ukrainian officials said, with Russian forces striking areas across Ukraine while readying a new ground offensive in the east. In Mariupol, the strategically crucial southeastern port city … [Read more...] about Russia begins new offensive in the Donbas region

Coleen Nolan: I do need to lose a LOT of weight … but there’ll always be a fat girl trying to get out
Breaking down in tears live on TV, Coleen Nolan wished the ground would swallow her up. TV medic Dr Christian Jessen had broken the news to the viewers of ITV’s Loose Women that she is three stone overweight – and Coleen braced herself for even more. That she had diabetes, heart disease, or something even worse. “I was mortified to hear I was that overweight,” she says. “I knew it was coming, but I literally thought it would be a stone – not three. I nearly fell off my chair. “I was dreading him saying something even more horrific, that my lifestyle – being overweight and smoking 35 fags a day – meant I’d made myself sick.” Luckily the worse news never came. “Part of the tears were down to relief,” Coleen explains. “But I was massively embarrassed too. Brave cat leaps to baby’s defence after father ‘attacks’ child as it lies in its chair
A brave cat came to a baby's rescue after it believed the child was being slapped by its father. The furry black feline showed off its maternal instincts when after hearing the man tapping hard on the baby's car seat saying "Naughty baby" repeatedly. After jumping at the man's hand a couple of times, the cat is forced to take more drastic action when he refuses to stop 'hitting' at the baby. Launching itself at the man's arm, the cat continually throws its bodyweight at the 'attacker' until he finally stops tapping the baby's seat and leans back onto the sofa bed. Heroic: Cat defends helpless baby from father's 'attack' ( Image: VideoSamorodki / You Tube) And it looks like the cat may have even managed to sink his claws into the man's arm as he shouts in pain before rubbing his wounded skin. It appears the clip was set up to test the cat's reactions - and the man never actually harms the baby. The video, which was shared online by VideoSamorodki on March 29, … [Read more...] about Brave cat leaps to baby’s defence after father ‘attacks’ child as it lies in its chair
