Rebel Wilson seen with Prince Harry after mocking royal’s Oprah interview

May 24, 2022 by www.newsweek.com

Actress Rebel Wilson was photographed with an arm around Prince Harry this weekend. The star had mocked the royal's interview with Oprah Winfrey at the BAFTAs earlier this year... before revealing a mystery member of the royal family had vetted her joke. Wilson, star of Pitch Perfect and Bridesmaids , uploaded a photograph to Instagram on Sunday showing her up close and personal with the prince with the caption "Team Harry!" The photograph was taken at the Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club in California where Harry's polo team Los Padres was playing in a fixture watched by Meghan Markle . Ahead of her hosting of the 75th BAFTA Film Awards in March, Wilson told BBC 's The One Show that though she was nervous about the ceremony, she at least had peace of mind that one key aspect of her set wouldn't cause offense. Speaking to show hosts, Lauren Laverne and Jermaine Jenas, Wilson explained she ran her royal jokes by a member of the family to see if they struck … [Read more...] about Rebel Wilson seen with Prince Harry after mocking royal’s Oprah interview

I dug for ‘The Secret’ buried treasure in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park and it broke my heart

May 24, 2022 by www.sfgate.com

Just a few feet from the morning traffic on Fulton Drive, I drove a sharp metal probing rod 3 feet into the soil of Golden Gate Park ... and hit something. I reached for my shovel and excavated the flower bed in search of an ornate plexiglass box that was rumored to be buried in the park 40 years ago. Dirt accumulated under my fingernails as I dug deeper and deeper, hoping this would be the most exciting day of my life. My hunt began over a year ago when a stranger from Oklahoma named Larry Gladd sent me an email with the subject line “Buried Treasure.” To the dismay of SFGATE’s IT department, I opened it, and Gladd shared his theory about a book called “The Secret.” Published in 1982 by Byron Preiss and illustrated by John Jude Palencar, “The Secret” looks like the type of fantasy novel you might find on the bookshelf of a 13-year-old boy who is not particularly popular. The book features tarot-influenced illustrations and cryptic poems that offer clues to the whereabouts of 12 … [Read more...] about I dug for ‘The Secret’ buried treasure in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park and it broke my heart

Monster earwigs, the Hull KR elf, Kipper the cat and 10 other interesting things to catch my attention this week

February 8, 2013 by www.mirror.co.uk

BOBBIE Goulding was the first person to suggest Parramatta were after Gareth Hock. He was bang on even though the move never happened. This week he's saying Sam Tomkins has already signed for Saracens next season to team up with brother Joel. If Sam wants to make the 2015 rah World Cup that makes sense. Interesting to see if Bobbie does.. Quite intrigued by the new Sky 'casual look' graphics before each game. Ryan Bailey (no surprise) and Tommy Makinson (surprise) look the most menacing so far though both were overshadowed by Saints coach Nathan Brown's massive shirt collars (really scary). Great interview by Jamie Jones-Buchanan with Bailey in Rugby League World this month incidentally, touching on his growing up without a father and his time in the nick. Noel Gallagher, Denis Healey, Thunderbirds beware...there's a new set of monster eyebrows on the block. Catalans coach Laurent Frayssinous appears to have two earwigs (earwigans if he were from Lancashire presumably) … [Read more...] about Monster earwigs, the Hull KR elf, Kipper the cat and 10 other interesting things to catch my attention this week
