A family home up for sale in Ohio is attracting a lot of attention online, with the layout bizarrely including a jail cell, thought to have once been occupied by the legendary gangster John Dillinger. The four-bed, four-bath home in Celina, Ohio, is on the market for $275,000, with the realtors claiming it's a chance to "own a piece of Celina history." The listing, from Superior Plus Realtors, who are handling the sale, alludes to the cell in the listing description, saying the property comes with "3 bonus room areas!" Ryan Stackhouse, who's marketing the home, told Newsweek 117 N. Brandon is a very "unique property." He said: "The home was built in 1972 by a local eye doctor, who lived next door to the property. "It is rumored that the doctor started by using the home as a private office space, but as time went on he decided to construct the home to use to entertain guests. "It was here that he held wild, lavish parties...hence the indoor pool, sauna, grotto-style hot … [Read more...] about Ohio home with a jail cell said to have held John Dillinger up for sale

Rookie on F1 Grid: DRS Chicken is Leaving a Bitter Taste Among Fans But It Stays on the Menu for Now
Formula 1 is the pinnacle of motorsport worldwide and has gained massive following in recent years even in countries that don’t get to roll out the red carpet for racing; India being one of those countries and this author being one of those followers. This column is my attempt to connect with other new fans of the sport and share with them my journey of exploring this fast, furious, and yes, at times, frustrating, sport. “Four DRS zones in Melbourne. You just know someone will waste them all, appealing deliveries which clearly pitched outside the line of leg stump.” That took a second reading, didn’t it? The perfect summation of my go-to- confusion when I, a rookie fan, first heard of DRS in Formula One . Four DRS zones in Melbourne. You just know someone will waste them all, appealing deliveries which clearly pitched outside the line of leg stump. — Tom Arron (@norramot) April 5, 2022 In a cricket-obsessed country, you (and I) will be forgiven for thinking it stands … [Read more...] about Rookie on F1 Grid: DRS Chicken is Leaving a Bitter Taste Among Fans But It Stays on the Menu for Now

Monkeypox isn’t ‘Black’ or ‘gay’ – it’s global
It’s been over 100 years since the Spanish Flu outbreak swept across the world. It is a disease that has become synonymous with the Covid-19 pandemic , a cautionary tale of the destruction a flu virus can have on a global population. But did you know it is not actually Spanish? That the disease itself likely did not originate in Spain? Instead, it is named the “Spanish” flu because the Spanish media reported on this new and deadly disease, whilst other countries, beaten down by the First World War and wanting to keep morale up, simply did not . Understandably, Spain was none too happy about being saddled with “ownership” of the killer virus, preferring to pass the buck, locally calling the H1N1 influenza strain the “French flu” and the “Soldier of Naples.” But the name stuck, all because the media at the time had hit on an “easy” shorthand for a complicated disease. It may make sense to use these simple shorthands when reporting disease outbreak, but they are not … [Read more...] about Monkeypox isn’t ‘Black’ or ‘gay’ – it’s global
