The north and west of Northern Ireland is expected to be the worst hit with the Met Office issuing an amber warning with much of the rest of the country blanketed by a yellow warning. BRITAIN will continue to get battered by heavy rainfall and “intense” thunderstorms today and millions have been told to “be prepared” for more flooding. Travel chaos is likely to affect more passengers after thousands were left stranded yesterday when lightning and fierce storms caused mayhem up and down the country. And the havoc is set to continue with more storms forecast and an inch of rain is set to fall across central and southern England. BRITS are set enjoy one more day of sunshine after record-breaking bank holiday temperatures - but thunderstorms are due to barrel in this evening. Rain will dampen the blistering 28C heatwave as the UK rapidly cools down from tomorrow in "a noticeable drop". The blue skies and soaring temperatures from the weekend will be replaced by clouds and much cooler 20-22C days.
