HOUSE of Fraser shoppers have hit out at new boss Mike Ashley for turning the luxury stores into another Sports Direct. The sportswear boss recently bought out the troubled chain for £90million, promising to turn it into “the Harrods of the High Street”. However, shoppers have poured scorn on the stores’ transformation which has seen luxury brands pushed out in favour of tracksuits and discount goods. The revamp has also left the shelves largely empty, with one Twitter user claiming his local House of Fraser had morphed into a Sports Direct outlet overnight. The new look comes just weeks after Mr Ashley hinted that he had plans to turn some of the high end stores into Sports Direct outlets, with others being rebranded under his Flannels chain name. Shoppers however weren’t impressed with what Mike Ashley has already done to the iconic House of Fraser stores, with many taking to Twitter to express their anger. Her son was hysterical after losing a flash drive with his homework near the local McDonald's, she wrote, uploading a photo along with the message. A neighbor quickly replied, explaining that the chewing-gum-sized object in the picture was not a flash drive: It was a Juul vaping device. "That's just an indication of how quickly Juuls became prevalent," recounted Esfand Nafisi, a lawyer who is handling two of three lawsuits initiated against Juul Labs last month. "You blinked your eye, and suddenly they were all over the place." Vietnam targets US$200 bn garment, textile exports by 2035 With import tax cuts presented by free trade agreements (FTAs) to which, Vietnam is a member, increasing automation in production and quite favourable factors in the world market, the country’s garment and textile exports are forecast to hit US$200 billion by 2035. Vu Duc Giang, president of Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS), says the US remains Vietnam’s largest garment importer, trailed by the EU and member countries of the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). Giang optimistically told the Japanese and Vietnamese media that the garment sector is likely to earn US$34.5 billion from exports this year.
