POLITICS 02/12/2019 12:18 pm ET The president bragged about his crowd size and claimed he got special permission to let 10,000 people inside the venue for his rally in El Paso on Monday. By Jenna Amatulli President Donald Trump told the crowd at his rally in El Paso, Texas, on Monday that he got special permission from the El Paso Fire Department to let 10,000 people inside the El Paso County Coliseum. El Paso Fire Department spokesman Enrique D Aguilar told The El Paso Times that not only did the fire department not give Trump special permission, but the Coliseum had about 6,500 people in it during the president’s rally. Aguilar says that number was at capacity and well within its standard allowance. The spokesman added that “it might be 10,000 with the people outside” total, but the fire department didn’t track the number of people outside the venue. Syria’s Assad suspends special visas for EU diplomats

January 24, 2019 euronews Leave a Comment

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - The European Commission said on Thursday that Syria's President Bashar al-Assad had suspended special visas for European Union diplomats to Damascus, confirming a Reuters report earlier this week. "The Bashar al-Assad regime has suspended multiply entry visas," a spokeswoman told a regular Commission briefing. "We are continuing as the EU ... to do whatever we can to avoid it having an impact on the important work we are doing on the ground." The special permission to use multiple-entry Syrian visas for access to Damascus was rescinded at the start of January with no explanation from the Syrian government, EU diplomats told Reuters, complicating efforts to distribute humanitarian aid to civil war victims. Prince Harry ‘given permission by the Queen to have a beard for his wedding’

May 19, 2018 thesun Leave a Comment

PRINCE Harry was given special permission from his grandmother the Queen to keep his beard for his wedding. The request was made as it is customary to be clean-shaven when dressed in Army uniform. Both Prince Harry – the newly appointed Duke of Sussex – and his brother the Duke of Cambridge wore the frockcoat uniform of the Blues and Royals for this morning’s ceremony at St George’s Chapel. In a statement, Kensington Palace said: "Her Majesty The Queen gave her permission for Prince Harry to get married in his uniform." It is understood that the permission covered the fact that Harry has a beard. According to historian Hugo Vickers, permission may also have been granted because Harry has retired from active service. British Army rules do not usually allow beards, except in rare circumstances, such as because of skin complaints, or for religious reasons. Pioneer Sergeants are the only rank allowed to have a beard, although members of the Special Forces can when … [Read more...] about Prince Harry ‘given permission by the Queen to have a beard for his wedding’

May 2, 2018 tucson Leave a Comment

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — In a historic move, Missouri lawmakers announced Thursday that they are calling themselves into a special session to consider impeaching Gov. Eric Greitens following allegations of sexual misconduct and misuse of charity resources.House and Senate leaders said they had gathered more than the constitutionally required signatures of three-fourths of the members of each chamber to summon themselves into a special session that will start at 6:30 p.m. on May 18 — just 30 minutes after the end of work in their regular session. It will mark the first time in Missouri history that lawmakers have called a special session. Extraordinary sessions typically are called by governors. The petition calls upon lawmakers to consider "disciplinary actions" against Greitens, which also could include lesser reprimands than impeachment. If the House votes to impeach Greitens, the Senate then would appoint a panel of judges to conduct a trial on whether to remove him from … [Read more...] about Missouri to hold special session on Greitens’ impeachment
