In a sense Joshua is still wrestling with the consequences of that defeat to Andy Ruiz three years ago. Though he avenged it six months later, he has not been the same fighter since. He needs to strip everything back to boxing and forget being a superstar and building legacies. That stuff takes care of itself. GEORGE TOWN: Once part of a thriving business in the 1990s, photo studio owner Sam Ooi now prints only about 500 photographs daily, a far cry from the heyday when he was required to do at least 5,000 a day. Back then, his machine costing RM200,000 in 1993 was fully utilised from day to night, receiving roll after roll of film from customers who wanted them developed at his shop here. Schools, publishing companies and many others sought his services. Today, the 56-year-old is one of the few who have survived the onslaught of the digital revolution. Even so, he has had to close down two of his three outlets here. Analyst: Protests not the answer to resolve price hike issue
KUALA LUMPUR: The people need to give space, time and cooperation to the government, which is working to address the issue of rising prices of goods and the cost of living through various interventions to reduce the impact on the public, says an analyst. Universiti Teknologi Mara School of Media and Information Warfare Studies’ security and political analyst Dr Noor Nirwandy Mat Noordin said the people should not do anything that could disrupt the government’s efforts, such as organising demonstrations, because it would not solve the problem. He said rallies and protests in the streets were seen only to create an emotionally-charged atmosphere and at the same time would bring various elements of anger, contrary to the culture, morals and ethics of the country.
