A young Lokesh Kanagaraj used to often hear stories of how Kamal Haasan would go to the terrace of his Alwarpet residence to get fresh air, and would sometimes wave at fans waiting below. A then aspiring director and fanboy, Lokesh would roam around Kamal’s house with the harboured hope that the star would one day wave at him. All that Lokesh hoped for was a wave from Kamal. But he landed the rare opportunity to say ‘action and cut’ to his “cinema aandavar ”. And that too in his fourth film, Vikram , which marks Kamal’s 232 film. Speaking at the recent audio and trailer launch of Vikram , Lokesh recalled his journey thus far which now seems to have come a full circle. “I am a believer. I have told this many times, I learnt all aspects of filmmaking by watching Kamal sir’s films. I’ve been blessed to have this opportunity to work with him. I believe in commitment towards work. Before Vikram , there was a nine-year journey that has led to where I am today. From day one, there … [Read more...] about ‘Vikram’ audio launch: Suriya plays a cameo, Kamal Haasan and Pa Ranjith to collaborate

Young children can easily see disturbing content on YouTube despite age restrictions
The YouTube video starts with a popular British children's cartoon character, Peppa Pig , introducing herself and her family, but there are signs of trouble almost immediately. During the ninth second, Peppa's mother opens her mouth and shouts, "Smoke weed!" The video - a doctored version of a real Peppa episode - deteriorates from there. Over five minutes, there are explosions and racial and homophobic slurs, culminating with Peppa and her parents in dark sunglasses smoking marijuana as rapper Snoop Dogg dances nearby. Since it was uploaded in 2015, the altered video, which has no age restrictions, has been viewed more than 1.5 million times. After years of vowing to police inappropriate content, YouTube continues to deliver violent imagery, drug references, sexually-suggestive sequences and foul, racially-charged language in clips that reach children at a troubling pace, say researchers, parents and consumer groups. YouTube's recommendation algorithm, they say, … [Read more...] about Young children can easily see disturbing content on YouTube despite age restrictions

Leading Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate in North Carolina Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC) has barbs out for his potential Democrat competitor Cheri Beasley ahead of the primaries on Tuesday. Both Trump-endorsed Budd and former Chief Justice Beasley of the North Carolina Supreme Court are way ahead of their competitors within their respective parties, meaning the candidates may likely soon go head to head in a battle between the “America First” agenda and the Biden agenda in November. Budd warned Breitbart News Saturday that a candidate “cannot be more radical” than Beasley, despite her attempts to pitch herself as the “North Carolina version of (Sen.) Joe Manchin” ( D-WV). “I can tell you, there is nothing further than the truth. She is a radical candidate. She loves Joe Biden’s radical policies, and she will stay with him even though she’ll find out ways to skip the vice president when she’s in town, skip the president when he’s in North Carolina — that’s for political … [Read more...] about Exclusive — Rep.
