PARIS is on lockdown today with tear gas being thrown across the city centre as 5,000 protesters descend on the capital for a "Day of Rage". "Yellow vest" demonstrators are clashing with cops on the Champs Eylsees boulevard this morning with more than 300 people already arrested over the violence. Major tourist attractions have been shut down including the Eiffel Tower as 90,000 riot cops try and tackle today's ferocious clashes. Dramatic pictures show French cops hurling tear gas canisters as they try to calm protesters angry at the high cost of living under President Emmanuel Macron. Cops say there are around 1,500 protesters on the Champs Elysees boulevard alone, while the BBC reports more than 5,000 are in the capital. Authorities say 343 people have already been arrested after police found weapons such as hammers, baseball bats and metal petanque balls on them. Phoebe Wall Howard Detroit Free Press Published 11:37 p.m. UTC May 28, 2018 Jody Gooden Chatham, 63, of Carmel Valley, California, found a well-preserved diary after her uncle died. She started looking at each word, carefully written in cursive, and read with shock that Roy Leighton (Bud) Wall of Detroit was part of the D-Day invasion. Supposedly, this would balance out inter-generational unfairness to help young people, already priced out of the housing market and struggling with insecure jobs, to stand on their own financial feet. But, if this were to happen in reality, would anyone really look after the handout in a sensible way and invest it wisely in their future? Or would they head to the nearest travel agent and splurge it on a one-way trip to Bali? We take a closer look at the bank accounts and spending habits of … [Read more...] about Can you guess who has £10,000 and who has £24? What’s really inside these 25-year-olds’ bank accounts
