FNC’s Carlson: ‘The Trans Movement Is the Mirror Image of Christianity, and Therefore Its Natural Enemy’
Tuesday, FNC host Tucker Carlson reacted to what he deemed evidence of the so-called transgender movement becoming increasingly “militant” and “possibly dangerous” after three minors and three adults were allegedly killed by a transgender person earlier this week in Nashville. Carlson described the movement as the “mirror image” of Christianity, making it the religion’s enemy. Transcript as follows: CARLSON: It was just last week that we noticed that parts of the transgender movement seemed to be getting militant and possibly dangerous. We did a whole segment about it on Thursday night. That segment was sparked by an NPR segment we had heard and never expected to hear. NPR, as always, as a matter of editorial policy, completely opposed to civilian ownership of firearms, with the possible exception of maybe IRS agents. Yet here suddenly was that very same station, National Public Radio, positively urging trans people to buy guns, as many guns as possible and if necessary, … [Read more...] about FNC’s Carlson: ‘The Trans Movement Is the Mirror Image of Christianity, and Therefore Its Natural Enemy’
Nashville Shooting Fuels the Right’s Engine of Anti-Trans Hate
Get more news and opinions in the twice-daily Beast Digest newsletter. Don’t miss the next big story, sign up here . We should, as human beings, feel once again united by tragedy, as the epidemic of gun violence, especially another school shooting, brings us all together in exasperation. We typically would be focused on mourning the tragic loss of life at Covenant School in Nashville, Tenn ., on the murders of little children, on the killings of the three adults gunned down in cold blood Monday morning. We’ve learned from police that the shooter had plans to go on a rampage beyond that private Christian school, to a local mall and more. You might even expect this would be that hallowed time of GOP “thoughts and prayers,” and renewed calls for more laws regarding mental health. But, no: This time is different, because the person pulling the triggers was transgender, like me. We trans Americans find ourselves reeling from unprovoked and unjustifiable attacks, on … [Read more...] about Nashville Shooting Fuels the Right’s Engine of Anti-Trans Hate
Soros Donates $1 Million to WI Dems Ahead of State Supreme Court Race
George Soros and other out-of-state billionaires have donated millions of dollars to Wisconsin Democrats ahead of the upcoming state Supreme Court election — a race which has “2024 consequences,” Fox News reported on Tuesday. Soros, an infamous left-wing financier, donated $1 million to the Democratic Party of Wisconsin on February 22, according to campaign finance records. Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker donated $1 million on March 14, and Tulsa philanthropists Stacy and Lynn Schusterman made four donations in March totaling $1 million, after previously donating $40,000 to the party. “Soros and Pritzker’s cash accounted for roughly 30 percent of the $6.6 million in individual contributions the Wisconsin Democratic Party raised during that time. A handful of other major liberal donors — including Karla Jurvetson and Fred Eychaner – added hundreds of thousands of dollars,” the outlet reported. The report notes the winner of the race will “determine majority control of the … [Read more...] about Soros Donates $1 Million to WI Dems Ahead of State Supreme Court Race
North Korea destroys nuke test site in front of journalists
PUNGGYE-RI, North Korea — North Korea carried out what it said was the demolition of its nuclear test site Thursday, setting off a series of explosions over several hours in the presence of foreign journalists. The blasts at the test site in the sparsely populated northeast were supposed to build confidence ahead of a planned summit next month between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and President Donald Trump. But Trump canceled the meeting on Thursday , citing the "tremendous anger and open hostility" in a North Korean statement released earlier in the day. The explosions were centered on three tunnels into the underground site and a number of observation towers in the surrounding area. North Korea held a closing ceremony afterward with officials from its nuclear arms program in attendance. The group of journalists that witnessed the demolition, which touched off landslides near the tunnel entrances and sent up clouds of smoke and dust, included an Associated Press … [Read more...] about North Korea destroys nuke test site in front of journalists
What It Takes to Make a Student
On the morning of Oct. 5, President Bush and his education secretary, Margaret Spellings, paid a visit, along with camera crews from CNN and Fox News, to Friendship-Woodridge Elementary and Middle Campus, a charter public school in Washington. The president dropped in on two classrooms, where he asked the students, almost all of whom were African-American and poor, if they were planning to go to college. Every hand went up. “See, that’s a good sign,” the president told the students when they assembled later in the gym. “Going to college is an important goal for the future of the United States of America.” He singled out one student, a black eighth grader named Asia Goode, who came to Woodridge four years earlier reading “well below grade level.” But things had changed for Asia, according to the president. “Her teachers stayed after school to tutor her, and she caught up,” he said. “Asia is now an honors student. She loves reading, and she sings in the school choir.” Bush’s Woodridge … [Read more...] about What It Takes to Make a Student
