Two years after closing the San Francisco office of Dewey & LeBoeuf, the law firm is reopening it in order to provide a home for three intellectual property lawyers defecting from Howrey.They are Henry Bunsow, who will co-chair the entire firm’s IP litigation practice, Denise De Mory and Brian Smith, according to a law firm press release and the San Francisco Business Times.When Dewey closed the San Francisco office in 2009, it asked the 17 lawyers there to move to Silicon Valley, the Business Times article notes. An employment boutique that’s been in the news recently because of its unpaid-internship litigation against big entertainment companies is now opening a third office.Outten & Golden announced Monday that Jahan C. Sagafi, formerly a partner of Lieff, Cabraser, Heimann & Bernstein, will head its new office in San Francisco. Blank Rome adds 21 lawyers from two firms, opens San Francisco office
Blank Rome is opening a San Francisco office and expanding its Los Angeles and New York offices with the addition of 21 lawyers from two law firms.The lawyers jumping to Blank Rome are from the California-based firms Finestone & Richter and Margolis & Tisman, according to a press release. The change is effective on Feb. 1.Blank Rome chairman Alan Hoffman says in the press release that the new lawyers “bring an impressive amount of corporate M&A, corporate litigation, labor and employment, banking, real estate, and trusts and estates experience to the firm’s practices in these areas, as well as Chinese and Korean language capability.”Margolis & Tisman lists 13 lawyers on its website; all but one are joining Blank Rome.
