POLICE in Germany have reportedly foiled a terror plot to carry out an ISIS-inspired knife attack at the Berlin half-marathon today. Officers swooped on six men aged between 18 and 21. At least four of them are reported to have alleged links to Berlin Christmas market attacker Anis Amri who killed 12 in December 2016. German newspaper Die Welt said the main suspect was known to Amri and had planned to stab to death spectators and runners at the half marathon. He was arrested in possession of two knives which had been sharpened, the report said. Berlin police said the arrested men "may have been involved in the preparation of a crime in connection with this event" but did not elaborate on details in the Die Welt report. Amri's attack in Berlin in 2016 had prompted German lawmakers to call for tougher security measures. World Germany World War II Bomb Berlin Construction workers have discovered a 1,100-pound bomb dropped during World War II in the center of the German capital of Berlin. German authorities have evacuated thousands of residents who live within an 875-yard radius of the site, but said on Twitter that the unexploded ordinance posed no immediate danger to the public.  It is not the first time that unexploded ammunition has been discovered in Germany, where Allied forces carried out massive bombing raids during World War II. But the risk of detonation means entire neighborhoods often need to be evacuated. TEL AVIV – A video of a 21-year-old Arab-Israeli dressed as a Jew being beaten by a belt-wielding Palestinian refugee from Syria in Berlin went viral last week, sparking outrage across Germany about the rising number of anti-Semitic attacks in the country.  After it was initially reported that he was Jewish, Adam Armoush revealed that he was an Arab-Israeli who wanted to find out whether it was safe to walk in the street dressed as a Jew.
