If the Kiss and Tell exhibition at Christchurch Mansion wasn’t wonderful enough, Ipswich has now got a second must-see show. The Women100 exhibition has just opened at the Ipswich Art Gallery in High Street, writes David Ellesmere, leader of Ipswich Borough Council. The Friends of Ipswich Museum were successful in getting a grant to fund the project, and the Council’s museums team has put together a great collection of 100 works by women artists from Ipswich and Suffolk. An exhibit to mark the 100-year anniversary of women as U.S. Marines is now open at the Women in Military Service for America Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery. A record number of people have been through the doors of Christchurch Mansion to see Rodin’s The Kiss which has been on display at Wolsey Art Gallery for more than six months.
