Carol Cain Free Press Business Columnist Published 6:30 AM EST Feb 9, 2019 ATLANTA — Lansing-area businessman Greg Eaton has a Super Bowl streak that in some ways is as impressive as that of the Robert Kraft-Bill Belichick-Tom Brady era: He is among a very few people known to have attended all 53 Super Bowls. Eaton, a leading Lansing lobbyist and partner at Karoub & Associates, has also owned and built several successful businesses along the way. Fit, trim and going strong at 79, he considers his Super Bowl streak among his greatest accomplishments. People in the exclusive Never Miss A Super Bowl Club (there are only three, including Eaton, in this group, but a few other people have attended every game) get the opportunity to purchase their tickets directly from the National Football League. Eaton, though, had not been able to make the right connections to pull that off. Instead, he worked through friends, many of whom were previously associated … [Read more...] about Lansing’s Greg Eaton has attended all 53 Super Bowls
Purchase michigan state football tickets
Kirkland Crawford Detroit Free Press Published 6:48 PM EST Dec 2, 2018 No, a quick trip to your local Redbox won't score you tickets to the bowl game. Though, that would be nice. And convenient. Yet, there are some processes in place for Michigan State football fans and alumni to get tickets to the Redbox Bowl on Dec. 31 at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. MSU (7-5) takes on Oregon (8-4) in the teams' first meeting since the Spartans' 31-28 win in 2015, and the seventh meeting all time. Tickets are $54 for students and are as high as $154 in the 100 club level (behind the bench). The other price levels are $129 and $79. There are three avenues: msuspartans.com then clicking on the ticket icon in the top right corner; calling either 517-355-1610 or 800-467-8273 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday or visiting the Spartan Ticket Office in East Lansing during those same times. The deadline to buy priority game tickets is 5 p.m. Tuesday for Spartan Fund donors, … [Read more...] about Michigan State football: How to get Redbox Bowl tickets
Detroit News staff and wires Published 11:43 PM EST Nov 22, 2018 Oxford, Miss. — Nick Fitzgerald ran for two touchdowns and threw for another score to lead No. 22 Mississippi State over Mississippi, 35-3, on Thursday night in an Egg Bowl marred by a fight that led to four ejections in the second half. Mississippi State looked as though it would cruise to a fairly uneventful win before Ole Miss receiver A.J. Brown appeared to score a touchdown at the end of the third quarter. Players immediately started shoving, and the fight spilled into the end zone while both benches emptied onto the field. Mississippi State’s Cameron Dantzler, Jamal Peters and Willie Gay Jr. were ejected, along with Ole Miss’ C.J. Moore. The referee said every player on both teams received an unsportsmanlike penalty. Gay was ejected because he already had one unsportsmanlike penalty earlier in the game. Brown’s touchdown was called back because time had expired in the third quarter … [Read more...] about Thursday’s college football: Mississippi State beats up Ole Miss

Herndon Nov. 8, 2018 LANSING, Mich. — There is a tendency for people to define Gretchen Whitmer by who she is not. Ms. Whitmer was not one of the surprising, insurgent Democratic nominees for governor this cycle, as her campaign for Michigan’s governorship was flush with money and key endorsements from the outset. She did not have the up-from-nothing background story of some other Democratic candidates; after all, a building in downtown Detroit is named for her father, the former chief executive of Blue Cross Blue Shield. She was not Abdul El-Sayed, the fiery leftist whose campaign for governor captured national attention, but who lost badly to Ms. Whitmer in the primary. And she was not Hillary Clinton, whose 2016 failure in Michigan still reverberates among Democrats throughout the state. But … [Read more...] about Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan Was Overlooked. Kirkland Crawford Detroit Free Press Published 4:03 PM EDT Oct 29, 2018 Michigan hockey is taking it outside once again this season. On Jan. 5, the Wolverines will play Notre Dame at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 5 at Notre Dame Stadium, one of the most popular college football arenas in the country. The game will come four days after one of the NHL's annual marquee events, the Winter Classic, at the same site as the Chicago Blackhawks "host" the Boston Bruins on New Year's Day. This marks the eighth time U-M will play outdoors in recent years. Along with the game at MSU's Spartan Stadium in 2001, the Wolverines have played at Wisconsin's Camp Randall Stadium in 2010, a game against Michigan State at the Big House in 2010, a game against Ohio State at Progressive Field in Cleveland, twice at Comerica Park in 2013 and at Soldier Field in Chicago, also against MSU, in 2015. Tickets go on sale at 6 p.m. Nov. 5 through Notre Dame's athletic department website. Tickets will also be … [Read more...] about Michigan hockey to play at Notre Dame Stadium on Jan. 5
