Think NIL blew up college sports? California is going for the knockout with new bill
Three years after California took the lead in the battle for college athlete rights as the first state to legalize name, image and likeness payments to players, another potentially game-changing bill is on the move through the state legislature in Sacramento. Senate Bill 206, signed into law by Gov. Gavin Newsom in the fall of 2019, made it illegal for the NCAA universities to prohibit third parties from paying college athletes for use of their NILs in endorsements, sponsorships and other appearances. Proposal to Allow NIL Deals for High School Athletes Fails in Ohio
The Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) announced that it has struck down a bill that would have allowed high school athletes to financially benefit from their name, image, and likeness. Ohio high school football players take part in a tackling drill (Getty Images) “Voting to change the bylaw started on May 1. Jewish progressives are dead wrong about ‘abortion justice’ | Opinion
The "Jewish Rally for Abortion Justice" is set to take place today in Washington, D.C. Led by the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW), the list of rally sponsors includes the ADL, Hadassah, Hillel and several Jewish Community Centers and Jewish Community Relations Council chapters.
