Prince Andrew’s former sex accuser Virginia Giuffre told a court that a French model agency boss she was introduced to by Jeffrey Epstein raped her at least 50 times. Her claim has emerged as an investigation into the death in February this year of Jean-Luc Brunel in a Paris jail tries to disprove conspiracy theories that he was murdered. Ms Giuffre, 38, told French magistrates in November 2020 that Brunel had committed “no less than 50 non-consensual sex acts”, according to evidence outlined in the French newspaper Le Parisien yesterday. She told of one alleged attack in St Tropez in May 2001 after model Naomi Campbell’s 31st birthday party. Virginia Giuffre gave evidence ( Image: REUTERS) Recalling how Brunel would often rape her at the time, when she was aged 17, Ms Giuffre told the hearing: “The attacks did not stop on the pretext that we were on vacation. After the party, I think I had had a few glasses of champagne and it got sexual.” However, visa details … [Read more...] about Prince Andrew accuser says Jeffrey Epstein’s modelling agent pal raped her 50 times

Elon Musk slams population concerns raised by Princes Harry and William
Elon Musk has said "the environment is going to be fine" even if the human population "doubled," in comments that set him on a potential collision course with climate campaigners like Prince Harry and Prince William . The Tesla CEO dismissed suggestions that "having fewer kids is better for the environment" as "total nonsense" during an appearance at the All-In Summit. The remark sets Musk at odds with many who campaign to save the environment, including Harry and William, although he did not name them. Elon Musk Says 'the Environment Is Going to Be Fine' Musk offered no evidence to support his contentions as he said: "We're currently headed towards a population decline. And that's everywhere in the world." He added: "Some people think that having fewer kids is better for the environment. It's total nonsense. "The environment is going to be fine, the environment is going to be fine even if we doubled the size of the humans. I know a lot about environmental stuff, so … [Read more...] about Elon Musk slams population concerns raised by Princes Harry and William

Princess Diana’s shadow looms over Charles and Camilla’s Canada tour
The long shadow of Princess Diana will still be felt by Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, on their current tour of Canada, royal commentator Rafe Heydel-Mankoo has told a British news station. The comments made by Heydel-Mankoo were broadcast on GB News as the prince and duchess left Britain on Tuesday to embark on their tour of Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as Ottawa and the Northwest Territories in Canada from Tuesday through Thursday. The tour is being made to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II , who is also the Queen of Canada. However, the visit also falls in the year marking the 25th anniversary of Diana's death in a Paris car crash. The late princess visited Canada with Charles during their marriage and the princess was highly popular among Canadians. Heydel Mankoo told GB News that though general support for the monarchy may be falling amongst Canadians, the royals themselves—such as the queen and Prince William and … [Read more...] about Princess Diana’s shadow looms over Charles and Camilla’s Canada tour
Is Putin dead? Pay attention when Russia starts broadcasting “Swan Lake”
Vladimir Putin's enemies are keeping a close eye on a bird in pointe shoes, because a broadcast of "Swan Lake" may reveal his demise. The ballet—a more-than-century-old staple of our own highbrow culture—is one of Russia's most famous contributions to the arts. It is a work that contains all the pathos and depth of the modern Russian nation, a dark story with a tragic ending. (Or a happy one, if one delves deeper in the ballet's evolution.) It's also a secret key to the state of things in the Kremlin. Swan Lake has all the elements of a modern-day binge-able series: young, scantily dressed women, a winged sorcerer, an evil stepmother, a handsome prince, a double suicide. On March 3rd, Swan Lake played a role in the Ukraine war, when State authorities in Moscow shut down Russia's youth-focused, independent and often Kremlin-critical TV Rain. The staff walked off the set and asserted their power to have the last word through Tchaikovsky's dramatic music and the disciplined dancing of … [Read more...] about Is Putin dead? Queen’s surprise visit a “very positive” sign for attendance at jubilee
Queen Elizabeth II has made a surprise visit to open a new railway named after her, raising hopes she will play a prominent role in her Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The 96-year-old monarch has been experiencing what Buckingham Palace has called "episodic mobility problems" significant enough to mean she could not attend the State Opening of Parliament, when she traditionally sets out the government's annual agenda. Yet on Tuesday the queen officially opened the long-anticipated Elizabeth Line at Paddington Station, central London. It was her second in-person visits outside of royal palaces within days, arriving hot on the heels of a trip to the Royal Windsor Horse Show on Sunday. "Definitely things are looking up," Ingrid Seward, author of Prince Philip Revealed , told Newsweek . "I think she's off to Scotland for a few days to rest now. She always does go up this time of year. It's very positive." The jubilee weekend could be a busy time for the 96-year-old Monarch, … [Read more...] about Queen’s surprise visit a “very positive” sign for attendance at jubilee
Why Indians Should Be Allowed to Question the ‘Great Muslim Conqueror’ Theory of History
Where do babies come from? We understand if a number of parents have difficulty answering this question when their kids ask them. That is why we have the education system. But what do you do when educators, academics, intellectuals and media have difficulty answering basic questions? Where does Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb come from? Open the doors of Gyanvapi mosque and let everyone see. No, you can’t look inside Gyanvapi mosque. There is this or that plea pending in the Supreme Court, and various other courts, to stop the videography. Then there is the supposed idea of India, something called places of worship act, this act or that act. If the Church could come back and have that argument with Galileo all over again, they would certainly appreciate our zeal to make facts illegal. You cannot ban history on the basis of ideology. But we have been trying exactly that. In the seven decades since independence, we have served ourselves with an invented version of history that can only be seen … [Read more...] about Why Indians Should Be Allowed to Question the ‘Great Muslim Conqueror’ Theory of History
Charles and Camilla to recognise victims of school scandal on Canada tour
The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall will reflect on the dark legacy of Canada’s residential school scandal as they begin their tour of the country later. Prince Charles and Camilla are visiting the Commonwealth realm on a three-day trip to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. Charles is expected to speak about the Queen's "profound affection she feels for Canada and its people", but there are also high expectations on the royal couple to acknowledge the treatment of indigenous people, especially through the state-sponsored residential schools system. Last year hundreds of human remains were found in unmarked graves at former church-run schools. More than 150,000 indigenous children were forcibly separated from their families in what investigators called "cultural genocide" in 2015. Advertisement From the late 19th century to the 1970s they were sent to Christian boarding schools, where many were physically abused, raped and malnourished, had … [Read more...] about Charles and Camilla to recognise victims of school scandal on Canada tour

Tandem royal honours at Windsor Castle for cycling’s golden couple
Olympic cycling great Dame Laura Kenny says she felt “lonely” after losing her unborn child and opened up about her miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy to “give support to other women”. The five-time Olympic gold medallist received her damehood from the Duke of Cambridge at Windsor Castle on Tuesday, alongside husband Jason who was awarded a knighthood. Speaking about her decision to share her personal experiences in an Instagram post last month, she said she hoped it would help other women and families. The 30-year-old told the PA news agency: “You wish it never happens to you and it’s not until you go through it that you realise how lonely it is, and I think it was that that made us realise that actually, OK, it was a bad situation to us but lots of people go through it. “You don’t know where to turn to and I think just by us being ‘brave’, (as) lots of people were branding it.
