Former President Donald Trump is considering releasing the footage he has of the FBI raiding his home, according to reports. CNN cited anonymous Trump “allies” and people “close to Trump” who encouraged the president to release the footage. Speculation about what Trump will do with the footage of the FBI continues to build. The former president confirmed on social media the FBI demanded all of the security cameras be turned off during the raid, but they did not stay off. “What is that all about?” He asked. “We said no!” The form president’s son Eric Trump told Fox News host Sean Hannity on Monday that they would release the footage, “At the right time.” NEW: Eric Trump says FBI asked for surveillance cameras to be turned off during execution of search warrant at Mar-A-Lago; says Trump will release footage “at the right time” pic.twitter.com/XejnDS4dt7 — Breaking911 (@Breaking911) August 16, 2022 Trump’s attorney Christina Bobb suggested that the Trumps … [Read more...] about Donald Trump Thinking About Releasing Surveillance Footage of FBI Raid at Mar-a-Lago

Joe Rogan Speculates FBI Raided Trump to ‘Knock Him Out’ of 2024 Run
Podcaster Joe Rogan addressed the FBI raid on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home and conceded that the DOJ sought to knock the former president out of the 2024 election. Speaking with Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon on his podcast this week, Rogan questioned if the FBI has actual criminal charges against Trump, saying he should face justice if they do. “I mean like, legally, what did they find? And is he actually in trouble? Because I think the goal was to try to knock him out of the 2024 elections, right? By trying him for crimes. What did he do?” Rogan asked. Though details remain ambiguous at this time, the DOJ and the FBI maintain they were seeking to obtain nuclear-related documents at Mar-a-Lago and classified information that Trump had in his possession. Surrounded by Republican members of the House Intelligence Committee, ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH) speaks during a news conference at the U.S. Capitol August … [Read more...] about Joe Rogan Speculates FBI Raided Trump to ‘Knock Him Out’ of 2024 Run
Every lawyer in Trump’s “excellent” team fighting multiple cases
Former President Donald Trump has praised his "excellent" legal team as he faces multiple investigations into his conduct and ongoing probes by committees of the House of Representatives. Trump praised his attorneys in a post on his Truth Social platform on Wednesday in response to an article published by The Washington Post that claimed he was struggling to find adequate legal representation. "The WAPO story that 'Trump is scrambling to add seasoned lawyers' to the Mar-a-Lago Raid case is, as usual, FAKE NEWS," the former president wrote. "I already have excellent and experienced lawyers - am very happy with them. This is highly political prosecutorial misconduct, I have not been charged with anything and, most importantly, I did nothing wrong. Thank you!" Trump said. Trump currently has a number of different lawyers representing him as he faces multiple investigations. Those investigations include an ongoing FBI probe of the handling of White House documents and New … [Read more...] about Every lawyer in Trump’s “excellent” team fighting multiple cases
What Weisselberg’s guilty plea means for Trumps
The Trump Organization's former chief financial officer plead guilty Thursday to 15 felonies on Thursday and admitted he conspired with the company to avoid taxes on corporate benefits. Allen Weisselberg reached a plea deal with the Manhattan district attorney's office that will likely have major implications for the Trump Organization. Weisselberg is expected to be sentenced to five months in prison with potential time off for good behavior, which means he could end up serving around 100 days. However, Weisselberg's plea deal does not include cooperation in a wider probe into former President Donald Trump and he will not implicate Trump by pleading guilty. Weisselberg will be required to testify at a trial concerning charges against the Trump Organization due to begin in October if prosecutors call on him to do so. His testimony could prove a major factor in the outcome of that trial. Trump has not been charged with any crime arising from the investigation and … [Read more...] about What Weisselberg’s guilty plea means for Trumps
Trump’s Money Man Allen Weisselberg Pleads Guilty
The Manhattan District Attorney’s attempts to flip former President Donald Trump’s loyal money man have officially failed, as the tax-dodging ex-chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg took a plea deal Thursday morning and won’t testify against his lifelong boss. Instead, he’ll get what some might consider a sweetheart deal for a 75-year-old man who kept his lips shut and wouldn’t implicate his old boss: six months or less behind bars. His legal team expects him to realistically spend three months in prison, and he will face five years of probation after serving his sentence. He will also have to pay back $1,994,321 in taxes he owed, prosecutors said in court. In return, Weisselberg has also agreed to openly testify about the way the Trump Organization rewarded him with untaxed corporate perks for years in the form of expensive tuition payments for his grandkids at a top-tier Manhattan private school, a luxury car to use anytime he wished, and a fully-paid swanky apartment … [Read more...] about Trump’s Money Man Allen Weisselberg Pleads Guilty
Ben Stein questions why GOP doesn’t get enough credit for freeing slaves
American actor and conservative political commentator Ben Stein faced backlash on social media after asking why the Republican Party is not receiving credit for efforts to "free the slaves." "We have a media that is working night and day to demolish the idea of Trumpism, and Trumpism is basically old-fashioned Republicanism. The original GOP was started to free the slaves. That is what the Republican Party was founded on," the Ferris Bueller's Day Off star wrote on Wednesday on Truth Social, a social media platform founded by former President Donald Trump . "Now the Democratic Party has never done anything like this in its history. Why does the Republican Party not get credit for that? Why does does the Republican Party not gather its nuts together and say we are the party of the greatness of America?" Stein's Truth Social post was criticized on Twitter , with one user saying that he "should go back to focusing on whether Ferris Bueller is present or absent. It was his best … [Read more...] about Ben Stein questions why GOP doesn’t get enough credit for freeing slaves
Unseal the Mar-a-Lago search affidavit—but redact it, too | Opinion
U.S. Magistrate Bruce Reinhart must decide what to do about the governments demand that the Mar-a-Lago search affidavit remain sealed. Former President Trump's lawyers have demanded the opposite: that the affidavit be unsealed and open to the public. Under the First Amendment, there is a strong presumption in favor of transparency and public availability of important documents. This presumption is rebuttable upon a showing of good cause. The showing cannot be a general claim that investigations should be protected; it must specifically point out names, words, and sentences whose unsealing would pose a significant danger. Unless such a showing can be made, secrecy is not justified in relation to important documents which the public has a legitimate interest in seeing. Accordingly, Judge Reinhardt should demand of the government that they make a showing of necessity sufficient to overcome the presumption of transparency. The result of such a process would be the release of most of … [Read more...] about Unseal the Mar-a-Lago search affidavit—but redact it, too | Opinion
Alleged Capitol rioter wants out of house arrest to visit renaissance faire
A Pennsylvania woman accused of stealing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi 's laptop during the Capitol riot with the intent of selling it to Russia wants out of her house arrest so she can attend a renaissance fair, according to court documents. Riley Williams, of Mechanicsburg, made a request to a federal court to allow her to visit the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire in Manheim this weekend, according to The Patriot-News, a Pennsylvania newspaper. The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire is a longstanding event where hundreds of people dress up as figures from the 16th century and visitors can buy wares and food presented in the theme of the time period. Williams was charged with trespassing as well as violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds on Jan. 6, 2021, both of which are misdemeanors. Other charges presented against Williams include theft of government property and obstruction of an official proceeding, which carry possible sentences of 20 years in jail. Steve Bannon attacks Mike Pence for defending FBI: “Gutless”
Right-wing strategist and podcaster Steve Bannon attacked former Vice President Mike Pence after he defended the FBI in the wake of the raid on former President Donald Trump 's Florida residence last week. Pence on Wednesday in New Hampshire urged fellow Republicans to stop their condemnation of federal law enforcement, as some GOP lawmakers have called for defunding or abolishing the FBI after the search warrant was executed at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort home on August 8. "Our party stands with the men and women who stand on the thin blue line at the federal and state and local level, and these attacks on the FBI must stop. Calls to defund the FBI are just as wrong as calls to defund the police," Pence said. Bannon, who served as the chief executive officer of Trump's 2016 presidential campaign and for much of 2017 as a White House strategist, quickly lashed out at Pence in a Wednesday episode of his War Room podcast. He described the former No. 2 Trump … [Read more...] about Steve Bannon attacks Mike Pence for defending FBI: “Gutless”
Rand Paul: ‘Burden Is on the FBI to Justify’ Mar-a-Lago Raid, Prove It Wasn’t ‘Politically Motivated Witch Hunt’
During a Thursday interview with FNC’s “Fox & Friends,” Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) called on the FBI to “prove” its raid of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home was “not a politically motivated witch hunt.” According to Paul, “the burden is on the FBI to justify” its raid since the agency had a history of spying on Trump. “You know, I think the burden is on the FBI to justify this raid. This is extraordinary,” Paul outlined. “This is also the same FBI that used a foreign intelligence warrant to snoop on and spy on the Trump campaign, to investigate them for over two years. So, I think the burden really is on the FBI. They’ve been wrong in the past. They’ve broken the law in using these foreign intelligence warrants; now, they use a domestic warrant. But I do think they need to release the justification for this because this is extraordinary.” “And we should not lose sight of the fact that this has never ever happened before — for good reason — because we need to have … [Read more...] about Rand Paul: ‘Burden Is on the FBI to Justify’ Mar-a-Lago Raid, Prove It Wasn’t ‘Politically Motivated Witch Hunt’
