A Russian national has been charged with interfering in the U.S. political system, including next month’s midterm elections, the Department of Justice revealed Friday. “Today’s charges allege that Russian national Elena Alekseevna Khusyaynova conspired with others who were part of a Russian influence campaign to interfere with U.S. democracy,” the news release said. “Our nation is built upon a hard-fought and unwavering commitment to democracy. Americans disagree in good faith on all manner of issues, and we will protect their right to do so. Unlawful foreign interference with these debates debases their democratic integrity, and we will make every effort to disrupt it and hold those involved accountable.” The end-game of the ongoing "alleged conspiracy" of interference "is to discord in the U.S. political system and to undermine faith in our democratic institutions," the news release said. Viet Nam News HÀ NỘI — Protecting and caring for children and creating a healthy environment for them is a focus for sustainable and long-term development of Viet Nam, according to Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc. The PM made the statement yesterday in Hà Nội while chairing a national online conference on protecting children against violence, abuse and harm to their health and lives. As many as 18,000 representatives joined the conference. “It is the responsibility of the whole political system, from the central to local levels, from every community and every family,” he said. Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) statistics showed that on average, about 2,000 cases of children being abused or living under violence are discovered and resolved each year.
