Takeaway: A prior art reference does not have to disclose the exact terminology used in the claim. In its Final Written Decision, the Board found that all of the challenged claims, claims 11-22, of the ’314 Patent are unpatentable and denied Patent Owner’s Motion to Amend. The ’314 Patent relates to user interfaces that provide advertising obtained over a global computer network. The Board then reviewed the first ground of unpatentability – anticipation of claims 11-14 and 16-19 by Guyot. Patent Owner argued that Guyot fails to disclose a “method of providing demographically-targeted advertising to a computer user,” “transferring a copy of the software ‘in response to a download request by the user,’” and “providing a unique identifier to the computer.” As to the first term, the Board was not persuaded by Patent Owner’s argument that Guyot does not use the word “demographic” because a prior art … [Read more...] about Microsoft Google v. What’s the difference between a chubby noodle and a fat noodle? Not much, according to the owners of two Chubby Noodle restaurants in the San Francisco area. Jean-Marie Le Pen charged over apparent anti-Semitic pun
Jean-Marie Le Pen gestures as he speaks at a meeting in January 2017. Photo: Pascal Guyot/AFP The founder of France's far-right National Front party, Jean-Marie Le Pen, has been charged with inciting hatred for alleged anti-Semitic remarks in 2014, his lawyer said Saturday. Frederic Joachim said the remarks by his client had been misinterpreted and his comments cut short. The situation goes back to June 2014 when Le Pen in a video clip posted on the FN website railed against a number of critics including pop star Madonna and Yannick Noah, the French singer and former tennis champion. When asked about another critic - French singer Patrick Bruel, who is Jewish - Le Pen said then that he would be part of "a batch we will get next time," using the word "fournee" for "batch", evoking the word "four", which means "oven". SOS Racisme called it "the most anti-Semitic filth", a pledge by the FN founder to put his critics in their place using a pun suggesting Nazi gas chambers. Farnam House Brewing Company
Farnam House Beer Farnam House Brewing Company specializes in well-traveled styles from the premiere beer-producing regions of Europe, including Belgium, France and Germany. While we started with takes on Saison, and continue to produce variations on this legendary style, there are plenty of other specialties we’ll bring to your glass. In summer, you might find our take on a cherry Kriek, or an all-smoked wheat beer called Grätzer. Around fall, we’ll serve the legendary Märzen. Omaha experiences some frigid winter weather, and that’s when we’ll increase the gravity and add some spice, with beers like our Spiced Tripel. And we’d be remiss if we didn’t join the time-honored tradition of serving Bock in the Spring. In addition to the seasonal styles, our brewers love to experiment with some of the more out-there methods in brewing, including sours, Brettanomyces and mixed styles. Always expect a rotating sour and Brett tap at the bar when … [Read more...] about Farnam House Brewing Company
