close Video President Trump reacts to IG report Chief intelligence correspondent Catherine Herridge reports from Washington. The report on the FBI’s Hillary Clinton email investigation issued Thursday by Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz confirms the gross misconduct of fired FBI Director James Comey, but – incredibly – fails to find any political bias in the actions of Comey and his inner circle. Yet the political bias by Comey and his team was there and is obvious. In some ways, the IG report resembles the notorious news conference that Comey held in July 2016 that both excoriated and exonerated Clinton for her improper and irresponsible use of a personal email server to handle official State Department business while she was secretary of state in the Obama administration. Clinton used her mobile phone for sensitive calls with President Obama while on foreign soil. She transmitted unencrypted classified documents … [Read more...] about Former FBI official: IG report is wrong — FBI officials were politically biased against Trump
Performance reports should include
Michelle Wolf’s bawdy, irreverent turn at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner was hilarious — but not nearly as funny, and disturbing, as the reaction it provoked. Sadly, many journalists are living out the truism that everybody loves free speech — until they hear something they don’t like. But working journalists — who extol, embody and rely on the First Amendment — should avoid swooning at the mere appearance of controversial or offensive words. Offensive is what you get when you hire Michelle Wolf. Like Dave Chappelle, Daniel Tosh and Jeff Foxworthy, she is the kind of comic who makes a living roaming the borders of good taste, stepping over the line here and there to make us question whether — and why — there’s a line in the … [Read more...] about The handwringing over Michelle Wolf’s performance is ridiculous: If anything, she went easy on Sarah Huckabee Sanders
LUCKNOW: There is an urgent need to set up University Tribunals in Uttar Pradesh to handle service matters and all other cases of a quasi judicial nature, suggested a report undertaken by the Raj Bhawan (Governor’s house) on ways to improve the management system of university administration in the state. Presented by UP governor Ram Naik in his capacity as the Chancellor of 28 UP universities on Monday, the report stated that he receives nine (on an average) appeals per month of which only four are decided, leaving a pendency of as many as five cases per month. There are 28 state universities and 8,189 colleges in UP. According to the report, due to massive unplanned growth in education institutions, not only the quality of education is declining, the number of disputes is also on the rise. Statistics shows that there are have a steep rise in litigation cases — from 56 in 2013 to 109 in 2016 — received in Raj Bhavan. On contrary, the number of cases decided during … [Read more...] about Urgent need for University Tribunals in UP: Report
Highland Park live-music venue the Hi Hat canceled a scheduled live performance by the band Black Pussy last week following fervent social media backlash, as well as threats of venue boycott and assault (involving the potential throwing of pig's blood), due to the band's name. The bill, which also featured Boots Electric, led by controversial figure Jesse Hughes (Eagles of Death Metal), was moved to the Redwood Bar downtown without incident the same night, and at press time BP’s Valentine’s Day Viper Room gig is still on despite rumblings of more protests. This isn’t the first time the Portland, Oregon, retro-rockers have faced negative reaction because of their name, but the 9-year-old group (five years together with this lineup) have played L.A. several times before sans conflict. So what’s different this time? Lead singer Dustin Hill told L.A. Weekly over the weekend that he thinks the Hi Hat was targeted due to its locale, which was a new part of town for … [Read more...] about Black Pussy Play Viper Room on Valentine’s Day After Protest Cancels Hi Hat Show. But Should They?
