How a Tax Case Could Force Roger Stone to Cough Up Jan. 6 Records
Roger Stone is not cooperating. But soon, he might not have a choice. On Monday, Justice Department prosecutors asked a federal judge to compel Stone and his wife to turn over all of their financial statements and bank account information from 2017 to the present. The request is part of a tax evasion lawsuit brought against the Stones last year. But for the MAGA world’s preeminent cocktail-clutching coxcomb, it could carry ramifications well beyond the IRS. The judge’s order would force the Stones to disclose a potential treasure trove of evidence. Prosecutors would obtain records of any financial activity of Stone tied to the Jan. 6 riot and “Stop the Steal” efforts, as well as potential payments from pardon-seekers, politicians, and private boosters—and, possibly, information about accounts that the Stones haven’t yet disclosed. So far, however, the Stones have refused to comply. Federal prosecutors filed the multimillion-dollar lawsuit against the Stones last … [Read more...] about How a Tax Case Could Force Roger Stone to Cough Up Jan. 6 Records

Bengal CID Plotting to Frame Me in Manish Shukla Murder Case: BJP MP Arjun Singh
BJP's Barrackpore MP Arjun Singh on Saturday alleged that the West Bengal Crime Investigation Department (CID) is "plotting" to frame him in the Manish Shukla murder case. BJP councillor Manish Shukla, who was a close aide of Singh, was gunned down in Titagarh on October 4. "I got hold of a chat of senior CID officers where they were discussing whether Arjun Singh has been framed. Going by this conversation, I am sure they (CID officers) are conspiring to frame me in the case," Singh said. The BJP lawmaker accused the CID of not nabbing the"culprits" who are "roaming freely" in the area. Senior Trinamool Congress leader Nirmal Ghosh dismissed Singh's claims and said the investigation agency is doing its best and Shukla's murderers and the conspirators behind the killing will soon be behind the bars. "We have better things to do rather than reacting to what Arjun Singh is saying. He is a 'bahubali' (strongman) in the area. The CID is on the right track. Soon, people behind this … [Read more...] about Bengal CID Plotting to Frame Me in Manish Shukla Murder Case: BJP MP Arjun Singh

The BJP fact-finding committee in the Hanskhali rape and death case has recommended that Article 355 (duty of Union to protect the state) and 356 (Union can take direct control of the state) should be implemented in West Bengal as the law and order situation in the state has deteriorated. The committee, which submitted its preliminary report to BJP president JP Nadda on Wednesday, highlighted that 27 rape cases, including 18 minors some as young as 4 years old, were registered in 20 days. It has suggested there should be an independent investigation in the Hanskhali case, and it should be transferred out of state.
