It’s been a rough first few days for White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer. At Tuesday’s White House Press Briefing, Spicer answered questions regarding President Donald Trump‘s continued remarks about alleged voter fraud. Even though Trump won the election and is currently in the first week of his administration, he continues to insist that at least three million illegal votes were cast in November.Spicer tried to meet the challenge of reporters who questioned Trump’s allegation, by saying this belief is nothing new, as Trump has been saying it for some time. He also tried to support his boss by giving statistics that back up Trump’s claim that voter fraud is a significant problem. Spicer said there was a Pew study from 2008 that showed that 14% of people who had voted were non-citizens.Now, according to CBS News, more than 131 million people voted in the 2008 election. That would mean that more than 18 million non-citizens would have had … [Read more...] about Where the Heck Did Spicer Get Illegal Voting Stats He Cited? We Can’t Find Them Anywhere.

Robert Sachs recently posted an interesting update on Section 101 prosecution stats here. One of the most disturbing stats related to medical software innovation. Inexplicably, it has been targeted as constituting largely only “abstract ideas” not worthy of patenting. This is another strong indication that the U.S. patent system is sorely in need of a legislative solution to the Section 101 problem that is now a runaway train on course to do major damage to the U.S. patent system and U.S. competitiveness in the technical software arts.Quoting from Mr. Sachs’ blog on this point:“There apparently is very little in the field of health care management innovation that these art units consider to be statutory. Yet it’s hard to imagine a field more crucial to the welfare of the people of the United States. Political solutions alone won’t solve our skyrocketing health care costs. Radical, high risk … [Read more...] about Sick Stats for Medical Software Innovations
