Immediately after the Supreme Court of the United States overturned the federal right to abortion on Friday , Fox News hosts and analysts declared that this was a “wonderful day” and a “victory for former President Donald Trump.” As millions of Americans reeled from the loss of Roe v. Wade protections, Fox News legal analyst Andrew McCarthy declared that this ruling was a cause for celebration across the nation. “It’s a great day for life. A great day for the restoration of constitutional jurisprudence. It is just a great day,” he crowed. “The court, despite the terrible onslaught of protests and intimidation it sensed over the last seven weeks, stood strong,” he added, referring to April’s leak of a draft of the opinion. McCarthy went on to praise the court for doing “the usual yeoman’s work” in getting this decision done, adding that it “befits the grandeur of this occasion.” Additionally, he pointed out that he’s “been working for decades” to get Roe stricken down. … [Read more...] about Fox News Celebrates the Death of Roe: ‘It’s a Wonderful Day!’

Trump-Endorsed Candidate ‘Appalled’ When Fox News Host Mentions Drag Queen Story
Kari Lake, the Trump-endorsed candidate for Arizona governor, was far from happy on Monday when Fox News anchor Bret Baier asked her about a report that linked her to drag queens. The interview, which was fairly tame on Baier’s end, began with Lake falsely claiming that the 2020 election was “fraudulent” and that President Joe Biden is “illegitimate.” Baier responded by playing a tape of Arizona House Speaker Rusty Bowers testifying before the House Jan. 6 committee last week that the election was not “rigged,” as she believed. “He is a Republican,” Baier said. “He is a Trump supporter . And that’s what he said.” “He is a RINO,” Lake replied. “And he hopefully will be defeated. He is an absolute RINO.” “I understand what you are saying,” Baier said later. “But there have been, as you know, more than 70 court cases where there was not evidence and there was not any state legislature or governor that failed to certify an election, including your own Republican Doug … [Read more...] about Trump-Endorsed Candidate ‘Appalled’ When Fox News Host Mentions Drag Queen Story

Ratings show Fox News viewers tuning out Jan. 6 hearings
This is a carousel. Use Next and Previous buttons to navigate 2 NEW YORK (AP) — Fox News Channel is airing the Jan. 6 committee hearings when they occur in daytime hours and a striking number of the network's viewers have made clear they'd rather be doing something else. During two daytime hearings last week, Fox averaged 727,000 viewers, the Nielsen company said. That compares to the 3.09 million who watched the hearings on MSNBC and the 2.21 million tuned in to CNN. It completely flips the typical viewing pattern for the news networks. During weekdays when the hearings are not taking place, Fox News Channel routinely has more viewers than the other two networks combined, Nielsen said. Last Thursday, Fox had 1.33 million viewers for the 2 p.m. Eastern hour before the hearing started — slightly below its second quarter average but on par for early summer, when fewer people are watching TV. After the hearing started, Fox's audience's sank to 747,000 … [Read more...] about Ratings show Fox News viewers tuning out Jan. 6 hearings
Jon Stewart ridicules Supreme Court on Roe v. Wade as “Fox News of justice”
Comedian Jon Stewart said that the Supreme Court 's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade showed that the institution has become "the Fox News of justice." Stewart, the former host of The Daily Show , denounced the recent decision to rescind the landmark 1973 abortion rights case during Thursday's episode of his The Problem With Jon Stewart podcast. Stewart argued that the Court had become a "cynical political arm" that made decisions based on personal ideology rather than "reasoned debate" while comparing the institution to Fox News. "The idea that this was based in any kind of reasoned debate or philosophical education—the Supreme Court is now the Fox News of justice, in my mind," said Stewart. "It is a cynical pursuit, in the same way that Fox News would come out with 'we're fair and balanced' under the patina of what would be a high-status pursuit to the betterment of society—journalism. They are a cynical political arm." Despite many considering Fox News to be … [Read more...] about Jon Stewart ridicules Supreme Court on Roe v. Wade as “Fox News of justice”
