Primark has confirmed some new features that will be coming to its UK website, in a boost for loyal shoppers. The high street fashion giant relaunched its website earlier this month with huge upgrades for customers. One of the biggest new features is that shoppers can now check stock in their nearest Primark - meaning you have a better idea of what is in store, including sizes. Before the new website launched, Primark shoppers could only get a preview of what clothes were on sale. But now, the fashion chain has confirmed it is adding even more features to its new website. Customers will soon be able to create a wish list of clothes, so you can keep tabs on the outfits you want to purchase later on. Website revamp boosts collection of donation for Cancer Institute
Have you recently visited Chennai’s Cancer Institute website? More specifically have you clicked on the ‘Donate now’ box? It has transformed how the Institute can generate funds – for research or sundry purposes. There is a segment for donations in kind as well as the institute has received clothes, property, shares and gold. In two months since the link went live, around 150 donors have contributed ₹1.20 crore. “Otherwise, these people would not have donated,” said R. Swaminathan, the institute’s associate director and head of Epidemiology. The funds are used to run a State-wide surveillance programme. “This is the only State where every new cancer case is counted. But for the money, we could not have done this surveillance,” he said. “Earlier, people had to write a cheque. ‘I made £4,000 from just one website – I use the cash to pay off my mortgage’
Cashback fan Simon Lavender has explained how he made £4,000 using just one website. You'll get money back for a qualifying shop as you complete the transaction via their website. It means you're essentially getting free cash on a purchase you would've made anyway. Sometimes you'll need to provide proof of a receipt too, in order to claim cashback. “I just think it’s a no brainer,” Simon, who lives with his partner, told The Mirror. “Especially in the current circumstances where everyone is trying to save a little bit of money whenever they can. “It’s very simple and quick to use but it gives you the option to save money on something you were going to buy anyway. It’s also surprising how much stuff you can get cashback on.” Have you made £1,000s using cashback websites? Emma LaFave, 27, has published multiple videos under her TikTok handle @77seater detailing how she and her husband, Brek, 29, purchased the bus off a public auction website and have put in sweat equity to turn it into something worthwhile. The 2003 bus was bought off Public Surplus, which is a surplus supply auction website, for $4,400. It was purchased last August with Emma admitting "it was something I didn't really think through all the way." ATM Cash Withdrawal to Become Costlier from Next Year: Free Withdrawal Limit, New Charges
ATM Rule Change: All bank customers who have a debit or credit card will have to shell out more money in a few days while withdrawing cash from ATMs. This is because the Reserve Bank of India in a notification earlier this year said that withdrawal of cash across the country will get costlier if done through ATMs after the prescribed limit for the customer in banks gets exhausted. Banks have already been notifying customers about the ATM rule change as the date nears. The change will be implemented from January 1, 2022 for all bank customers, according to the RBI notification . Once this new rule comes into effect, a credit or debit card holder will have to pay Rs 21 per transaction once the withdrawal limit exceeds. GPT-3 is short for Generative Pre-training Transformer and is the third generation of the machine learning model. Machine learning is when computers can automatically learn from their experiences without having to be programmed. Its predecessor, GPT-2, made headlines for being deemed “ too dangerous to release ” because of its ability to create text that is seemingly indistinguishable from those written by humans. While GPT-2 had 1.5 billion parameters which could be set, GPT-3 has 175 billion parameters. A parameter is a variable which affects the data’s prominence in the machine learning tool, and changing them affects the output of the tool. At the time when GPT-2 was deemed “too dangerous” to release, it used 124 million parameters. France’s New Solidarity Minister Denies Sex Assault Charges
French President Emmanuel Macron’s newly appointed minister in charge of solidarity and people with disabilities denied on Sunday allegations of rape from over a decade ago, revealed by an investigative website. Damien Abad, a right-wing heavyweight, was a political coup for the centrist Macron in a cabinet shuffle announced on Friday to prepare for parliament elections next month. The next day, the Mediapart website reported a politics watchdog group created by members of France’s MeToo movement had informed prosecutors as well as Macron’s LREM party of rape claims against Abad by two women in 2010 and 2011. The report said one of the women informed the police in 2012 but then declined to formally make a complaint, and her subsequent claim in 2017 was later dismissed by prosecutors. The Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed on Sunday it was informed of the two claims by the MeToo watchdog on Friday, and they were being investigated. “I contest in the strongest way these … [Read more...] about France’s New Solidarity Minister Denies Sex Assault Charges
