Christopher Lythgoe, 32, was arrested by police investigating a plot to murder Labour MP Rosie Cooper and a female police officer. It came just over a year after fellow Labour MP Jo Cox was shot and stabbed to death in her Batley and Spen constituency by neo-Nazi Thomas Mair. The plan was foiled by a whistle-blower Robbie Mullen, who leaked details of a meeting at the Friar Penketh pub in Warrington to campaigner group Hope Not Hate in July last year. Jack Renshaw, 23, from Skelmersdale, Lancashire, has pleaded guilty to preparing to engage in an act of terrorism in relation to the plot and threatening a police officer. Jack Renshaw bought a 19in Gladius knife to kill Rosie Cooper and a police officer he had a grudge against, the Old Bailey has heard. The 23-year-old revealed his plans at a meeting in the Friar Penketh pub in Warrington on July 1 last year, jurors have heard. He was allegedly given the go-ahead to kill Ms Cooper on behalf of National Action by leader Christopher Lythgoe, 32, who told him not to “f*** it up”. A "NEO-NAZI" who plotted to murder a Labour MP with a 19inch Gladiator-style machete was encouraged to target Amber Rudd, a court heart today. But Jack Renshaw, 23, allegedly believed the former Home Secretary was too well protected when "ringleader" Christopher Lythgoe told him to target her, it was said. He is accused of buying a Gladius Machete blade with the intention to kill his local politician Rosie Cooper last summer. Afterwards, he planned to take hostages to lure a police officer to the scene so he could kill her too, jurors were told. The murderous scheme was foiled by a former National Action member who reported the threat to Hope Not Hate. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network Leads Protest Outside NFL HQ After Kneeling Ban
Al Sharpton’s National Action Network helped lead a protest Friday outside the New York headquarters of the National Football League. The demonstration comes in response to the league’s new rules aimed at ending player protests during the playing of the national anthem. Over a dozen demonstrators appeared outside the midtown Manhattan HQ of the football league, led by members of the National Action Network (NAN), a civil rights organization, The Hill reported.Some of the small group worse jerseys featuring the name and number of former San Francisco 49er Colin Kaepernick, the NFL player who invented the anthem protest at the start of the 2016 football season.
