During his reception for a delegation of the US-ASEAN Business Council (UABC) led by President of its Vietnamese committee Alexander C. Feldman in Hanoi on March 29, Luu applauded great contributions made by US enterprises to Vietnam’s economy over the past years. He said that the UABC has worked as a bridge between US businesses and Vietnam, thus contributing to the enhancement of cooperative relations between the two nations and governments. The Vietnamese legislature has paid due attention to new moves and policies of President Donald Trump’s administration, especially those related to trade and investment, he said, noting that Vietnam always regards the US as one of its leading partners in terms of economy and trade. Viet Nam News HÀ NỘI — The latest revision of the draft law for special administrative and economic zones absorbed feedback and made changes to several items including planning and organisation of the special zone’s government, according to lawmakers. Most National Assembly deputies agreed the revision was a positive step during yesterday’s meeting to review items to be submitted to the fifth plenary session of the 14th National Assembly. Head of Dong Nai’s NA deputy delegation applies for resignation
Phuc said that Thanh’s application for resignation from the post will be reported to the NA and NA Standing Committee for settlement in line with the law. On May 4, the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee held a meeting to consider the proposal of the CPV Central Committee’s Inspection Commission to apply disciplinary measures against Thanh, who is Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee of Dong Nai and head of the province’s NA deputy delegation. The Secretariat said that violations and wrongdoings of Thanh were very serious, caused discontent among officials, Party members and local people, and negatively affected the prestige of the local Party organisation and herself. NA optimistic about Vietnam’s economic growth in 2018
According to the government report on Vietnam’s socio-economic situation last year, Vietnam achieved a GDP growth rate of 6.81%, an export increase of 21%, and an export surplus of US$2.9 billion. This sets a firm foundation for Vietnam’s economy to grow further in 2018. Continued macro economic stabilization So far this year, Vietnam’s macro economy has remained stable and inflation has been kept under control. The country has implemented flexible monetary policies, provided prompt support for credit organizations, and ensured liquidity and safety for the whole system.
