U.S. President Donald Trump and South Korean President Moon Jae-in reportedly chatted over the weekend about the planned U.S.-North Korean summit.The Washington Post reports Trump sought the South Korean president's interpretation of the sudden shift in the North's position.A meeting between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is set for June 12 in Singapore, but last week, the North hinted it could cancel the summit if it continued to face pressure to denuclearize. And North Korea outright canceled a planned meeting with the South amid a joint U.S.-South Korea military exercise. South Korean President Moon Jae-in is scheduled to visit Washington on Tuesday for a meeting with President Donald Trump to discuss North Korea policy. The meeting will occur just three weeks before Trump is set to meet with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un for a historic summit in Singapore, assuming North Korea does not make good on recent threats to withdraw from the summit. South Korean officials said Trump and Moon will “discuss ways to guarantee a bright future for the North when North Korea achieves denuclearization.” President Trump spoke in a similar manner on Thursday, assuring Kim Jong-un that he will be “very, very happy” if he makes a deal with the United States, and his country would become “very rich.” Trump added that if Kim does not make a deal, he will most likely face the “total decimation” model of denuclearization and regime change employed with the late Muammar Qaddafi of Libya. Just two days past its new phase, the slender moon was around 9% illuminated, with its surrounding glow caused by sunlight reflected by Earth – a phenomenon known as earthshine. While the two appeared close to each other, they are much further apart in space. The moon is around 226,000 miles (364,000km) from Earth, while the distance between Venus and our planet is a whopping 126 million miles (203 million km). On hand to capture the celestial meeting was amateur astronomer David Blanchflower, who said Venus will also be seen next to the moon on Friday evening.
